Aquaris is a killer, having vowed to get his revenge on the world for the wrongs done him. Spectra, however, is deluded that he still is the charming, innocent Pearlcatcher — an act that he’d put on when he met her — and doesn’t even recognize him for who he is, let alone protect her hatchlings. Psyche is the last dragon of Spectra’s clan, all of whom were murdered by Aquaris. At night, she steals their offspring and tries to give them a better future than to be accomplices of a murderer …
