Freyja is an old veilspun hailing from deep within the Tangled Wood, keeping her head bowed out of respect for the lands she calls home as she walks unharmed through trickster webs and wicked thorns that would otherwise try to claim any wandering dragon for themselves, and answering to only the call of the ground beneath her very feet. She was wise before the new age took its first breath, old before the clock began to tick, and still she stands - not so much untouched by the passing of life as she is simply in-tune with it, existing as Sornieth allows her to, and asking for nothing more.

If one can find her, the veilspun is a potent herbalist who specialises in use of nature's darkest secrets. While some healers might focus only on the plants that are known to benefit the body, Freyja chooses to learn from the ones who take life more readily than they give it. Nightshade can be used to soothe a mortal wound, hemlock will calm a troubled stomach, oleander has the ability to draw other toxins from the bloodstream, and foxglove can become a very pleasant tea that eases the nerves and awakens the mind. Freyja herself, having long since built up a resistance to nature's toxins, is particularly fond of pine and foxglove tea.

However, Freyja is not a dragon others trust. Before the rest of her kind emerged from the shadows of the Tangled Wood, the dragoness' appearance alone frightened many. When combined with her offered medicine of traditionally poisonous herbs as a way to heal the sick, she was deemed a foul trickster, and she made no efforts to correct their thinking. If anything, she fed into the way others saw her. She is from the time before light-hearted jokes and tricksters, before brightly-coloured banners and playful carnivals, and vehemently rejects such childish concepts with venom in her tone. The game she plays is one only she understands; every cup of tea she offers may possess only the taste of bitter poison before complete paralysis, the metaphorical white flag she extends stained with blood. She does not barter for a cheap thrill - she gambles with the lives of those who encounter her, and revels in every second of it.

Freyja's darkened gaze bleeds the ichor of her goddess as a blessing; she is everything a shadow dragon is meant to be, in the most primordial sense of all.

- A dragon who follows her instructions even down to the way they hold themselves will still not see their concoctions be anything other than deadly; there's something about Freyja herself, something only she knows to do, that allows her the freedom to use toxic flora in her work
