Lyle

"Frost encroaches."

A story often told in the Rotmarrow Clan is that of Lyle, the eldest child of the Clan founders, Ander and Annette. Supposedly, his egg was cold from birth and had to be stored away from that of his brother as not to sap the heat from the less unusual egg. Hatched with an affinity for Ice magic uncommon to Plague dragons, the story may well be true.

Lyle's personality matches his secondary element, cold and distant. His voice is similar to that of your typical Fae on the rare occasion that he does speak, flat and unemotional, and he tends not to use body language to its fullest. The only three dragons who can fully understand him are his parents and his clutchmate Jansen. This seems to frustrate him deeply, as he can sometimes be overheard complaining to his brother about how hard it is to make friends. The phrase "How am I ever going to find a mate like this?" has been heard at least once.

Despite his breed's inability to eat anything other than meat or seafood, Jansen has been known to eat plants on occasion, though he appears to be trying to keep it a secret since he never does so within the Lair. He favors fruit even though he can't taste sweet foods, apparently enjoying the texture and lack of bitterness, and sometimes makes himself sick by eating too much plant matter. If he'll ever figure out the correct amount is uncertain.

While his duty is unclear to many new members, especially those arriving in the warmer months, Lyle is an asset to the Clan and uses his Ice magic in conjunction with Kestral and Landon's Fire magic to keep the Lair warm and habitable in the colder parts of the year, though he keeps a part of the Lair cold for any Tundra or Gaoler dragons that may join the Clan.
