Founder of the Rotmarrow Clan, Annette had to be tough for her breed in order to survive. She hatched sickly and alone, surviving off of scraps scavenged from carcasses or given to her by less stone-hearted dragons. She seems not to realize that her level of resilience isn't shared by most, as she often offers guests food so rotten that even most Plague dragons would hesitate to give it to their worst enemy. Whether she's trying to make a power play or is just oblivious remains to be seen. The name Rotmarrow originates from some of Ander's Mirror friends when they visited; while they ate the food, they jokingly said it was so old that it may rot even their bones, and Annette found it both catchy and amusing enough that she named the Clan after the teasing remark. When those friends visit, they often announce their presence with more teasing and raucous laughter over the fact that the Clan is named after an in-joke.

Annette was briefly taken in by a Pack of Mirrors in her adolescence, and though she didn't stay there long, she did manage to make a friend. When she left, she took a Mirror named Ander with her, who would later become her mate. Ander and Annette would wander the Scarred Wasteland for months, eventually settling down in what would become their Lair.

Due to her lack of socialization with other Fae, Annette almost never uses her crests for their intended purpose and has a remarkably expressive voice for a Fae. While it's useful when it comes to speaking with other breeds, Faes coming into the Rotmarrow Clan regard her as almost alien, and have even more difficulty understanding her intentions than they do with other breeds. Annette herself appears ignorant to the disconnect, and has just as many issues understanding other Fae as they have understanding her. She seems not to realize that the issue is on her end, sometimes complaining to Ander about how tough it is to figure out what another Fae means when they speak.
