Augustus's closest, oldest friend, Pennant did eventually figure out how to retain her own personality instead of just taking on his. Eventually. Only took her almost a year.

Pennant has always been fascinated by clouds and used it to her advantage, quickly learning to predict the weather based on the types of cloud she saw. She used this knowledge to flee her Colony during a dry spell in search of adventure, finding it in the Rotmarrow Clan after a few months of travel.

She and Augustus quickly bonded, and have been best friends pretty much ever since she joined. Though only slightly younger than him, and joining only a few days after, much of her comfort within the Clan can be traced back to Augustus helping her settle in and get used to her new life. They had a brief romantic fling that resulted in a daughter, but split up shortly after, finding that they preferred only being friends.

Pennant is rather reclusive and quiet, only coming from her section of the Lair to eat or try to predict the weather. She sleeps for much of the time she's in there and is snappish towards anyone who enters, except Augustus, whom she often talks to for hours at a time.
