Biography
Sybil
resource manager | precise | perceptive | particular mate: Kanefer | PAIR RANGE From her hatching, Sybil observed her surroundings with acute awareness beyond her years. She noticed the tense relations in her clan and how they stemmed from her mother, Tak. She watched her treat dragons with callous disregard, discarding those she deemed lesser. She also watched how her father, Ohan, stood idly by. Worst of all, she noticed Tak's apathy towards her and her siblings. This drove her siblings to vie for their mother's attention, but Sybil cowered. She realized Tak had no room in her heart and she would not spare cruelty if she did not live up to her impossible standards. So when Sybil could fly on her own, she escaped. She told no one and did not know where she was going, but she reasoned anywhere else would be better. However, she flew into the Scarred Wasteland, one of the most dangerous places for shadow dragons as they were most susceptible to the plague. With Sybil's miniscule size and weak wings, she could scarcely fight the toxic storms and soon everything went black. When she came to, she gasped a breath of fresh air. She lied atop soft, cool grass, and a pink guardian looked down upon with worried eyes. She introduced herself as Millicent and explained that Sybil had passed out in the storm. She brought her to her territory, a plot of fertile land that she called the Sanctuary. She then asked if Sybil had anywhere to go, friends or family. Sybil's eyes watered. In those brief moments, Millicent had shown her greater kindness and concern than her own flesh and blood. The tears flowed when she admitted she had no one. Millicent leaned down and nuzzled Sybil gently. She told Sybil that she was welcome to stay in the Sanctuary for as long as she'd like. For she knew what it was like to have no one and promised to spare Sybil from that pain. Sybil decided to stay and from that day on, Millicent took Sybil in as her own. She taught her how to navigate the Scarred Wasteland, glide above the billowing mushroom clouds, breathe in a way to conserve fresh air, and catch the most delectable insects. However, as a shadow dragon, no matter her experience, Sybil would always be vulnerable to the plague's wrath. Realizing this, Millicent took her as her charge and vowed to always protect her from the contagion. In return, Sybil used her perceptive nature to assist Millicent in running the Sanctuary. She painstakingly catalogues food and resources and distributes each item accordingly, ensuring every dragon has their fare share. She often catches details overlooked by most dragons and spends most of her days at Millicent's side, chattering of daily reports and updating her on the Sanctuary's happenings. Sybil is content within her new clan and family but on some quiet nights, her eyes wander to the shadowy horizon, wondering of the clan she left behind.
