Millicent
Clan leader | kind | generous | unyeilding

mate: Ravenwood | PAIR RANGE

When Millicent hatched, her parents and siblings had long since expired, victims of the plague and leaving her with no choice but to fend for herself.

Hungry and fearful, she set forth and spent her first night in an abandoned cavern and eating scraps too rotten for even the most ravenous mirror. The meat tasted sour and turned her stomach, but Millicent slept through the ache and survived her first night in Sorneith.

Millicent eked by this way for much of her early life, struggling for survival and living off other dragons' scraps. Occasionally, wandering clans took pity on her and allowed her to travel with them. They taught her the ways of the Scarred Wasteland: which plants meant sickness and which healed wounds, how to channel magic, fend off wandering beasts, and even how to navigate the Abiding Boneyard. Each lesson was a struggle, but Millicent grew stronger with year and in time, clans that once barely tolerated her now sought her guidance.

Thus, it was little surprise when Millicent decided to start her own clan. Her fellow plague dragons were eager at first, considering Millicent a capable leader, but their jaws dropped when Millicent announced her intention. Rather than lead a nomadic clan, Millicent spoke of taming the land. For she believed the dangerous mutations that surrounded them could be benefited from, using to create something livable, a place where dragons could rest rather than fight for survival. She called it her Sanctuary.

Other dragons scoffed at her vision. For not even the strongest dragons could do little more than survive the plagues, let alone thrive.

Still, Millicent persisted. She claimed a plot of land as her own and began tilling the soil.

Day and night she worked, noting mutations and their effects, and drawing her plans for the Sanctuary.

Many dragons watched her from afar but only one approached: a grey mirror clattering with bones and smelling of rot. He introduced himself as Ravenwood, and Millicent invited him to work alongside her.

Though taken aback, Ravenwood accepted, and together they labored over the land.

In the passing days, Millicent found joy in Ravenwood's company, laughing at his amusing anecdotes and tall tales. Humor soon grew to fondness, fondness grew to interest, and interest grew to romance.

They soon created a foundation for Millicent's clan, and she invited him to stay, not only as a clan member but as her mate.

Ravenwood readily accepted, vowing to make Millicent's dream his own, but their joy was short-lived as two mirrors emerged from the shadows: Sourtooth and Forsythe. They revealed themselves as cohorts of Ravenwood, bandits who pillaged the Scarred Wasteland without a care of the damage in their wake. They sought to reclaim Ravenwood and ravage the Sanctuary for its resources.

Despaired, Millicent wept at this apparent betrayal. Had Ravenwood not placed himself before her, she might have fallen to the Sourtooth and Forsythe's initial attack, but when she dried her eyes, she saw Ravenwood bloodied and hurt for her sake. Though stunned, Millicent stood strong and fought the intruders from her land. The battle left her bruised and weak, but she kept her head high and declared the Sanctuary her own.

She licked Ravenwood's wounds and soon they recovered, welcoming dragons of all walks of life into the Sanctuary.

Millicent presides over the clan with a firm but fair claw. She fosters growth in all who dwell in her Sanctuary, encouraging every dragon to find their talent and flourish against adversity, just as she had.
