"Insert your dragon's quote here. It looks nice multi-lined as well, if the quote is long." ▰▰▰_____________________________________ (to be cleaned up) -A former archmage candidate under the employ of the Stormcatcher in her youth, Trekka fled the desert after a falling-out with her mentor that happened under mysterious circumstances. This was a long time ago -- exactly how long ago is unclear, since no one but her mate knows her actual age, but long enough ago that few in the Stormcatcher's lands remember her. Huxley and Caleb came with her, and the three of them found refuge in the port town of Askarel. -Political control of Port Askarel is determined by a wide variety of factors and sometimes just sheer luck. Trekka was lucky enough, and also stubborn and vicious enough, to get a foothold in the town doing odd jobs and enforcer work and claw her way up from there. She taught herself Plague magic, a massively difficult task for someone not raised in the Plaguelands, and made the grueling pilgrimage to the Wyrmwound by herself to receive the touch of Plague. -Trekka is not a particularly nice dragon, but she is a fair, if somewhat harsh, ruler. She is willing to listen to the residents of the port, at least to a point, although the final decision always lies with her and her array of advisors on the Crimson Council. She does not believe in wanton violence -- after all, despite what outsiders may think, the code of the Plaguelands is about survival, not pointless bloodshed. Threats are dealt with harshly and swiftly, as is necessary for the survival of the port, and political alliances are made with a meticulous contract and one hand with a knife behind the back. While random violence is an unnecessary waste, Trekka and the council are not above cutthroat dealings if it means survival or money. -Few dragons would dare to challenge her, and the few Wasteland warlords who have tried to take control of the town since she ascended to rulership have eaten their words. Only the exceptionally brave or exceptionally foolish would take on a battlemage as hardened as her, especially one touched by the Lady of Plague who wields two elements with ease. Despite her solid political control over the port, Trekka is intensely paranoid, a quality that has only worsened with age. -Absolutely terrible mom. Like. Just so bad. She's a fair and generally well-liked ruler who's done a lot to make the port a good place but she's just awful personally, not to mention her extremely messy familial issues. |
