"Earth to earth, ashes to ashes, dust to dust…" This is the phrase many often hear Reliquary repeat to himself as he brews his noxious tonics and potions for the Mother of Malice, Shiva. She demands the finest quality, and the repetition of the phrase keeps him working steadily and with focus. His wife has long since accepted that her husband is odd when it comes to his work, and yet, she can't help but be enthralled by it. And what a marvel it is, to watch him brew and mix without so much as a need to measure or look at what ingredient he needs next, all thanks to his being born under the moon of flowers. Not that Reliquary cares much for that tidbit of information, he prefers to say his skill was born from his own efforts, not the magic he uses or was born under. This is often to his mate's amusement, who finds his staunch stubbornness on this detail endearing, and infuriating at times. As he's not just stubborn in his beliefs regarding his skill as an apothecary, but in almost all aspects of his life. While this bullheadedness has helped Reliquary make it as far as he has, it is a double edged blade. He's considered hard to work with, and generally difficult to speak too, but with enough time he tends to grow on others. After all, that's what happened with his beloved Vestal, his mate and closest friend. At first she found his stubborn nature infuriating and disliked him, but as she got to know him, Reliquary's other qualities came out. He had a dry wit to him, a silent confidence few could match, and a clever mind. These enraptured her, soon she found her dislike turned to friendship, and later love. But she was not the only one interested in him, no, his skill and intelligence had attracted the attention of something older, and far more dangerous. He had caught the attention of Shiva, a powerful and ancient member of the Malice Ichor subspecies. He knew he was playing with fire when she offered him her patronage, and he accepted, but he deemed it necessary if he was to deal with his family's ancient foe, the child eaters. |

The Horn of Ruin A warhorn carved from the horn of Shiva, the mother of malice ichors, or so the story goes. When sounded it brings forth intense feelings of misery and despair in all those that hear it or drives others into a wild frenzy depending on the user's intent. It is a malignant instrument, vile and cruel, and best kept out of the claws of those who would wish to use it. When it was still just a dragon's horn, the horn of ruin was originally a gift from Shiva to the young Witchborne, Reliquary. It was he that with great care and effort carved the horn into the cursed instrument. His reasoning for this is kept close to his chest, and he becomes defensive and evasive when questioned. While many lesser horns of ruin have since been made by unknown persons, the true horn of ruin still remains in Reliquary's possession kept far away from the claws of child eaters and their ilk. But the intentions of Reliquary are unknown, so perhaps the horn is not out of the improper claws just yet… |
May, the Moon of FlowersWitchborne dragons under the Moon of Flowers are skilled with herbology, making them skillful potion brewers, may it be a remedy for toothache or a poison that slowly stops the heart and makes the discoverers believe that the victim had died in their sleep. These are the dragons whom most would care to thread around, even if most Witchborne are good in potion-brewing as it is a taught and required skill for them to have. These dragons born under the Moon of Flowers are the epitomes of this deadly art, as it is their uncanny ability to be able to know without any fixed measurement the right amount of an ingredient needed, for saving or otherwise.
