 Spellfinder / Spell Finder 
PROCEDURE While setting up, have bean juice brewing. Take hold of the spellbook in question. If the caster is nearsighted, they should use glasses. Turn on the oil lamp. **Not necessary if the room is already well lit. Take a sip of bean juice. Open the book. Flip the page to desired spell. NOTES It helps having a detailed table of contents. :)

Whisper from Afar
Pluck the petals of a flower (any will do, for whispers to a specific recipient, their favorite is preferred) to remind them of your love. Gather a handful of sand from the land of the home you both adore to remember your roots. Collect the feather of a songbird to help your words take wing. Once you have gathered all your ingredients, set a candle and your intention and before you speak your message and let the wind carry the ingredients from your open palms, speak this spell.

Draught of Resuscitation

Note: This is an experiment with old magic, substituting ancient practices with more modern solutions.
Needed Ingredients Sulfur - standard measure, dry, powdered Pine - half-standard measure Golden Ikkesm Horn - 1 (see page 72 for non-lethal alchemical substitute) Scroll of Sacrifice - (Substitute with a valuable possession). Blood - three standard measures (See substitute above) Purified Ink - standard measure Moonflowers, off season - two standard measures Destem moonflowers. Remove the pits and crush petals into a fine paste. Reduce pine to its oil. (process on page 14) Add pine oil and horn (or horn substitute) steadily, crush until fully dissolved between pours. Should look like glass. Set aside in a dark and cool environment. Place frost spell on if necessary. Coat moonflower pits in sulfur power. Place over roaring fire in a sealed jar. When bursting, remove from fire. Conserve smoke if needed for Silent Steps Spell (page 46). If not, feed smoke to Blizzard Gyres. Wait till cool. Add pits to the glass mixture. Step back twenty tail-paces until the reaction settles and air begins to smell like petrichor. Size of the brew should have doubled and changed to red. Transfer to pot and hang over a small fire. When simmering, add Scroll of Sacrifice (SUBSTITUTE), then ink in half-half measurements. Runes should carve themselves into the pot. Simmer until the brew changes to blue. Add blood (SUBSTITUTE) Keep simmering until reduced to vial size. Color changed to clear. Wait till cool. Transfer to vial. Keep in a cold place. Exile used equipment and purify self.

PROCEDURE QQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQ Gather the shell or the unhatched egg of the hatchling. Set the runestone beneath, or inside the shell. Place coal around the egg in a circle. Sprinkle the bottled embers on top of the coal. Embers from Phoenix work best. Place Firestarter's at regular points around the circle. Make sure sparks reach across. SPELL *Translation from Sylvan, Rokugan dialect. Reworded for effect. Small little embers. Please lend me your glow. I know that you're tired. Snuffed out by cold snow. But don't give up yet. I promise you'll grow. A fire you'll be. Your flames shall overflow. So please little embers. Stay with me.

Solis Cicatrix
PROCEDURE Crush ingredients together in a fine powder. Sprinkle into a small glass vial. DO NOT SHAKE. Use within 2 weeks of creation lest it becomes less potent, risking backfire. When used: Take vial. Recite name of spell and crush vial in fist. Creates the light of the sun in your hand. Can be held for no more than 5 seconds before thrown, lest risk untreatable burn damage. Thrown fire will last for multiple days; no water will smother it. Use at own risk and as last resort. |

PROCEDURE. Harvest bamboo shoots from clusters using the dull edge of a knife. Quickly add the juice of the bamboo shoots to the wind essence, stoppering it as the reaction heats. Once the green and purple sparks have ceased, slowly drip the saliva in, heating it over a large fire so that the mixture does not solidify. :( In a mortar crush the wings and runestones, creating a fine powder. If stones are unwieldy, some cooling may be required. Add this powder to the boiling mixture over the fire. Once cooled, drink immediately. This will grant all users the ability to speak in a language of the target's choice, and to understand it to a similar degree of fluency for 5 days.
