Ikhiri is as serene, open-hearted, and genuine as his older sister Helia is anxious, clingy, and repressed. A powerful natural empath, he uses his ability to support and care for others, discreetly sensing their emotional state and offering assistance, comfort, or whatever else they most need. Every word and action has a mindful grace to it; he sings like an angel (if dragons had angels), a pure, light tenor like moonlight spilling through clouds; and lingering in his presence brings a soothing tranquility.

He has firm mastery over his gift, but he nonetheless finds gatherings a strain, especially boisterous ones, and he tends to be somewhat reclusive. Nature is his resting place—he finds peace in the simple, fleeting emotions of animals and the slower, even more quiet feelings of plants. He and Adalia understand each other well, and although they’re not personally close, they often share a silent companionship. Ikhiri also sometimes helps with her healing work, usually by distracting and calming the patient.

Although Ikhiri is devoted to the pack, his heart and soul belong to his beloved Qīngbái, his lifemate, other half, and one true love. The two of them are an unshatterable pair—he would give his everything for her, and she is the only dragon who truly knows his innermost self. Seeing them together is like seeing a world made whole, and even Lakeisha feels an uneasy reverence in the face of their love.
