Glass is a remarkable creation: a living automaton in the near-perfect likeness of a dragon. Exactly how she was made is unknown; Lakeisha has been studying her off and on as part of a side project, but although she's gained a few relevant insights, Glass's more intricate workings remain a mystery. Despite the detailed accuracy of her form, Glass is obviously not a real dragon. Her movements are a combination of uncanny fluidity broken up by unnatural pauses; the vanes of her wings are stiff and chime softly when she opens and closes them. Either through some flaw in her design or a more recent malfunction, her vision is slightly uncalibrated, and she cocks her head in a strangely birdlike fashion when looking at things. She lacks a true mirror's heat sight and is unable to smell or taste, and she has only a limited sense of touch. She is extremely sensitive to vibrations, however, and essentially can hear with her entire body. Glass is self-aware, although she remembers nothing from before she was discovered and accidentally awoken. Her mind is essentially a blank slate that is slowly being written upon. For the most part she's a passive learner, taking in what others teach her but not seeking out knowledge on her own; she's begun to ask questions, however, and is displaying some interest, even curiosity, when she encounters new things. She's not entirely certain what feelings are or if she experiences them, but she's gradually discovering what appear to be likes and preferences. Music in particular draws her, and its reverberations through her body give her something that at least approximates pleasure. 
» The material of her construction is fortunately more durable than actual glass, but it's still vulnerable to damage; while minor scratches and scrapes somehow fill themselves in, a broken point on her right arm frill hasn't repaired itself, and Lakeisha is unwilling to experiment and perhaps cause truly serious permanent damage. She's also forbidden to fly, which may be a moot point, as it's not clear whether her wings are even functional for flight. » Since Glass doesn't sleep, she's often posted as a sentry or set to watch over the nests when they're close to hatching. » Her voice is a low, pleasant contralto, although her speech generally lacks inflection. | ********** |
