Lakeisha sneers at Qīngbái's magic, calling it archaic and lacking in scientific rigor. Nonetheless, her workings are both effective and powerful. Her two main practices are the creation of calligraphic talismans and the binding of (willing) spirits into objects. The most potent item that she currently possesses is her spirit jar, which contains a lunar spirit that manifests in the form of a floating, translucent white koi.

For all her calm surety when dealing with spirits, she's very shy around other dragons and prefers to spend her time in solitary pursuits. Her paintings are as exquisite as her calligraphy, and Foma happily purchases as many as she can in order to resell them for great profit in Terraclae and elsewhere. However, Qīngbái reserves the best of her works in order to give them away as gifts. Often she puts a little something "extra" into them, to bring good fortune or other blessings to their owners.

Her love is as strong and true as her magic, and she and her mate, Ikhiri, sometimes seem almost to glow from the purity of their devotion to each other. They are one another's shelter and breath of life. But if anything should ever threaten him...well, she is the daughter of Bái Wúxiàng, the White-Robed Calamity, she has seen cruelty and death to the limits of imagination, and although she long ago fled from that dark heritage, she can cut down an enemy without mercy or qualm.

(That Ikhiri knows this about her and loves her no less is a daily wonder to her.)
