BASIC DESCRIPTION.

Cainwen/Genna => Ceryn => BananaSundae => me

Lorelie came to Oliander with her brother Ryder and the first thing they did in their new home was help a Fae named Theodosia Overcome the demons that haunted her. When Ryder had taken the demons out of her she had been nocked out and hadn't woken for weeks. Ryder, who had never used his power on anyone before had checked on her every day and had even had a few dinners with her family while she was out, by the time Theodosia woke up Lorelie's brother was already in love with her, the stories he'd been told about her and her family, he had begged her to court him, and after a few months they were mates. Lorelie was glad her brother was happy, had always hoped that one day he could settle down away from the glares of their fellow mirrors and family. She just hadn't expected it to make her feel so hollow inside, like something was missing, she would have to share her brother now, he wasn't just hers anymore.
Lorelie stayed in the den her and her brother had been staying while he packed up and went to live with his mate, but Ryder got her a special surprise before he left, Ryder knew Lorelie would be lonely so, he got her Newsie. He was a rare breed of Decision Maker and according to Ryder this type had a special gift of being able to detect paranormal activity. Lorelie was delighted, and found interesting ways to occupy her and Newsies days without her brother there by her side all the time, but slowly she grew more and more restless each day. Finally after two weeks of studying paranormal activity and training with Newsie and studying some more, with visits to her brother and his mate in-between, she cracked, she needed something to hunt, preferably something that heightened her ranks in the Supernatural Investigators, something powerful.

*^*^*^*
After asking around for a few days (Oliander was sadly absent of most paranormal activity) she found her prey. Some citizens had seen a shadow sweeping over the trees at night and one trader had found a deer carcass on the road with two puncture wounds in its neck, there was no questioning it, she was after a Vampire. After gathering supplies for her track she said goodbye to Ryder (who was very against her going alone but was still too busy with setting up his new life to come with her) she packed up her supplies (including a few ash wood spikes) and her now loyal Newsie, and started out east, the direction of the trading root the trader had found the deer on.

*^*^*^*
An hour of two of flying lead her to the exact spot the trader had told her to go to and she immediately let Newsie out of the bag at her side onto the ground with his leash tight around his neck to sniff around. In their training sessions Lorelie had found that Newsie had a knack for tracking, not just detecting the paranormal, it had been hard to train him because of the lack of paranormal activity in Oliae but Lorelie had a few enchanted trinkets that worked just fine. The odd bark of Newsie, and a jolt at the rope she was holding shook her out of her thoughts. Newsie was facing north poised to take off as soon as she gave the signal. She gave a sharp whistle and Newsie tensed, she put the rope in her mouth and he took a carful step forward, then she tugged and they both raced forward, speeding through the trees like a pair of Dunerunners across the sand. After only a minute or two of running Newsie stopped dead, sniffed the air and the surrounding area and took off again this time heading Northeast.

This time they ran for a while before Newsie stopped, panting by some boulders. Lorelie collapsed down next to him, dropped the rope from her mouth and stroked his papery head with one claw. By this time it was dusk, the vampire would probably be awake by now, which was a blessing and a curse, because on one claw it would be away from it's den so Lorelie could check it out and make sure there wasn't any secret entrances, but on the other claw it could come home at any point during the night, and being in it's den at the wrong time could be fatal. A whine from beside her drew her attention away from her short pros and cons list, she looked at Newsie to her right and he got up and started around the boulder. Lorelie promptly followed him around the boulder and found a large opening in the pile, that Newsie was scratching at furiously with his scissor claws. Once he knew he had her attention he crept inside and, curious and slightly hopeful that it could be the entrance to a much larger cave, Lorelie followed, crawling through the hole and into a drop off, about five feet down that widened into a tunnel, that sloped downward. Moving cautiously now she followed Newsie down the tunnel. Only a few seconds later it opened up into a small room.

*^*^*^*
In the dim light she could see one tunnel branching from it. The right side of the room was occupied by a nest of sorts mixed with bones and other animal paraphernalia, and she started when she switched to her heat vision and realized that heat was coming off the nest! She took a few carful steps forward dragging Newsie who had started toward he tunnel to the left, behind her like a ragdoll. As she got closer Lorelie realized that it was a family of Pardas, two adults, a male and a female, and three cubs that where probably a few months old, all asleep thankfully. Pardas generally weren't very vicious but they where also very vocal, and if the vampire was still in it's den, and yes she did believe that this could still belong to a vampire, there was no way Pardas would dig this big of a den themselves, their chirps would wake it.

*^*^*^*
Turning away from the nest Lorlie walked toward the tunnel and found that unlike the floor outside it was carpeted with some sort of red moss, another indication that the pardas weren't the only ones living in the cave. She continued down the dark hall, Newsie following, as she felt her way along the walls of the tunnel. It was now too dark to see, and she only realized she was in another room when her claw dropped off into nothingness. Lorelie switched to her heat vision and the room was empty, slightly disappointed, and yet slightly relived not to have found any other living beings she debated her nest course of action. If she left the den then she could spy on the entrance, but there was also a chance that the Vampire would sense she was there and sneak up behind her before she realized it was there. No it would be better to stay down here with her heat vision activated, as soon as she saw a heat source walk through the entryway into the room she would attack. Lorelie knelt down and patted Newsie on the head three times so he would know to be alert, she found her way to what she figured was the back of the room and fumbled around with her bag until her claw scraped against something wooden, she pulled it out and sat down to wait for the Vampire to emerge.

*^*^*^*
Lorelie woke up to an eerie red light and the sound of Newsies growl that sounded like paper being crumpled but much louder. She looked up and saw a male spiral pacing back and forth across the room
"Tundra Fluff." Lorelie cursed at herself, she had fallen asleep like a common spiral and had let herself be
cornered, her surprise attack ruined she had no choice but to act, and act fast. She lunged forward, but just as she was about to pass the dragon and head to freedom she felt a tug behind her and for the first time realized she was chained to a rock formation behind her. The male spiral stared as she strained against the thick metal chain attached to her back leg, after a few minutes Lorelie...........
