Kaolin

"A clay painter? I’ve never heard of such a thing, but it sounds wonderful! I would love to know more about this hobby, such as knowing how many clay items you paint each day, and what your favorite pictures are to paint on them, it’s all so exciting just thinking of the possibilities! Now I’m not an artist myself, though I would be more then happy to gift you any clay I find on my research with fossil hunting!"

Wren paused in his organizing as he heard the steps approaching his stall, the vials of scent clinking together as he turned to face the direction of the noise. That was the sound of two legs and not four, but the tread was too heavy to be that of a longneck. A banescale perhaps?

"Can I help you at all? I'm still setting up at the moment, but if you have any questions I'd be happy to help!"

There was a rustling from the direction of Wren's incense sticks, like the dragon had leaned forward into the stall. The smell of jasmine briefly mingled with the hints of rich clay and lichen already in the air. Lichen? A shadow dragon then. Maybe one with an interest in pottery of some sort?

A laugh then, warm, inviting, and above all familiar.

"Have you forgotten already? I promised to tell you about my latest project the next time I was passing through Dragonhome."

Wren felt a smile begin to spread across his face, thrilled. No matter how long it had been, listening to a friend tell their stories was always welcome.

"Kaolin! It's been too long! Come, tell me everything. There's still time before the Colonnades get busy. Let us find a quiet corner and you can tell me all about it!"

"Ah... Salutations. So I hear you are a clay painter, yes..? Splendid... art is quite a wonderful hobby, it is... I have quite long admired those who are able to craft and paint fine pottery. O-Oh, where are my manners..? I am Rila of the Lumiera Kingdom... pleased to make your acquaintance. I am an artist myself, though I usually paint landscapes and the occasional portrait... Your work sounds quite lovely... I would love to see it sometime, and perhaps even try my own claw at clay painting one day... I-I am certain we will become wonderful friends, dear Kaolin."

A shrill voice calls out from behind somewhere. It belongs to a tiny but very colorful wind Fae. Somehow she seems to flutter in place without effort, almost hovering. Wings beat silently, rotating back and fourth, like the wings of a hummingbird. "Wow! I've never thought to use clay as a medium before! I would be curious to try that myself! If you have any time to spare I'd love to see some of your other works too!" Canvas excitedly scribbles something down in a tiny Fae sized font... "I would love to paint you sometime, if you're up for that! Oh, I almost forgot! My name is Canvas, what's yours?" The small paint covered dragon awaits his response with a huge grin.

The tundra happened upon the clay painter's stall, mainly in pursuit of her mainecoon cat, Thistle. The Scottish fold, Tumbleweed, made no movement while perched upon her wing. "Thistle, Thistle come back!"

The cat stopped at the stall, and Effie took a moment to scoop him up in her claws. "There you are my dear! ... oh, why isn't this just lovely!" Her greenish eyes scanned Kaolin's stall. "My my, aren't you the talented one!"
