Hahnu. Dream. Not necessarily the warm fuzzy kind but not a nightmare either. Somewhwere in between usually. Almost like a fever dream.

Note to self familiar is Peacock Spider

Hahnu was a natural wanderer, just like her mother. However, this wandering was not born from a desire to explore. She felt like she was being called somewhere, away from her home within the viridian labyrinth and so she often was found wandering around the edge of her clan’s territory. When she was old enough, she set out in the direction she’d always felt drawn to. She wandered, seemingly aimlessly, for many days stopping only to sleep or to hunt. Eventually she wound up within the abiding boneyard at the doorstep of Breakwing Point. She looked around her at the sprawling circular garden that grew where she’d arrived, ‘Odd,’ she thought, ‘what’s a garden doing here?’ she shook her head, now satisfied she’d reached the destination she’d felt called to and curled up beneath the boughs of a large oak growing there.

A few hours later CreepingIvy found her curled up beneath the tree. Initially angry that an outsider, one she didn’t know at that, was in her garden and messing up her flowers, she woke Hahnu with a shriek of annoyance and much yelling. Bewildered by the sudden berating she was receiving Hahnu panicked and ran off, right into the midst of the Breakwing Point caverns. In the ensuing chaos many a dragon ended up being bowled over. She continued tearing around the place, confused and rather scared, until she crashed right into a very confused Aberration. He blinked and looked down at the young mirror that had just barrelled into him carefully picking her up. Both heads looked at each other confused as Thunderclap approached with Ivy in tow. The patriarch of the clan took one look at the little mirror and was reminded of his own youth.

He smiled and without a second thought said, “What’s your name little one? And how did you end up here?”
Hahnu’s eyes grew wide, “H-Hahnu... Sir… And I… I don’t kn-know… I just followed the feeling I had…”
Thunderclap smiled.
“Well then,” he said, “Welcome to our clan, the clan of Breakwing Point”
A hushed murmur ran through the gathered dragons at the fact Thunderclap had just welcomed a new face so readily. As Zulokraan put Hahnu down she scampered over to Thunderclap who smiled and gently petted her head.
“Well little Hahnu, I’d also like to welcome you to not just the clan but my own family. I hope you don’t mind.”
As Hahnu smiled Ivy squawked with outrage, followed by a torrent of grievances related to her poor garden and Hahnu which was met with laughter from all present.

From that moment, Hahnu immediately became attached to Zulokraan, and Thunderclap. She looked up to both, learning that Thunderclap had once been a timid mirror himself, secretly finding it funny he was still timid just a wildclaw instead now, and Zulokraan had been a bogsneak once she wondered if she too could change. When Hahnu questioned this, they told her that if it was what she really wanted they would happily help her find a way to do so, but they would need to know what she aspired to become. She spent a moment in thought before looking at Zulokraan.
“I wanna be like you. Strong, brave, and cool looking!”
Both laughed before Zulokraan smiled at her and said, “Very well then, we can show you how to become an Aberration.”
His partner piped up, ever the voice of reason, “Be warned though, once you change there is no easy way to go back. The Wyrmwound changes us all. For better or for worse. Not to mention there is a chance it may not work, you may become something other than an aberration.”
“Oh, hush now, it’s not that dangerous.”
To which, Hahnu nodded, much to Thunderclap’s dismay, before answering.
“I understand. I don’t want to be afraid anymore. Being like you will help with that right? If so, I have to take the chance.”
the Aberration smiled, “You alone can change that, but if being like me helps you feel you’ve achieved that, then so be it.”
Thunderclap, while riddled with worry for Hahnu begrudgingly agreed to the proposal.
“Mother keep you my little Hahnu…” he whispered as the two left the room.

The next day the pair set off, with Hahnu riding upon Zulokraan’s back as they trekked to the wyrmwound. Upon their arrival they discovered a small aberration crawling his way out of the wyrmwound. He’d clearly had a similar idea to Hahnu and undergone the change himself. As the duo waved to him in greeting, he sat up all grins and wagging his tails like an excited hainu.
“It worked!! I changed too! Ahhhhh!!! I feel so free! So alive! I feel like myself at last!”
The bubbly little aberration introduced himself as Hahvulon and asked if they were here to change as well. Hahnu nodded, explaining how she wanted to be stronger and braver, so she was going to become an aberration to achieve that. Hahvulon grinned once more.
“That’s a great idea! I believe in you!”
To which Hahnu gave a small smile, surprised by the level of his enthusiasm. Clambering down from Zulokraan’s back she walked towards the bubbling cauldron. Taking a deep breath, she glanced back at the others, and then dove into the wyrmwound. After some time, she broke the surface, clambering back up onto shore and shaking herself off.
“Did… Did it work...?” She asked.
Seeing the relieved smiles upon Zulokraan’s faces and the gleeful grin on their newfound friend’s was all the answer she needed. She beamed herself.
“I feel braver already!”
Zulokraan chuckled, “You were incredibly brave to take this chance. This new form is just a symbol of the courage you bear little one.”

They spent some time there, Zulokraan teaching the two new Aberrations how to get used to and control their bodies, as well as how to get along with the new conscience that would form within their second head in time. When came time for the pair to head home, Hahvulon surprised the two of them with a question.
“Could. Could I come with you?” his heads tilting in opposite directions clearly very hopeful.
Zulokraan pondered the question, “Hmmm… I don’t see why not…” he murmured to himself; his partner replied, “But would the others let him stay? We don’t know him at all.” He shook his head, “Perhaps, perhaps not. But that is a question for when we get there. Come, little ones, we have a long journey home, so we’d best get going.” His smile was enough to lift their spirits as they set off home.
