VESUVIUS THE MOST GENTLE

╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮ "Why would anyone want to harm this sacred land? Our beautiful creation?" ╰━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╯ The second-born of the great warring of the First Age, Vesuvius is quite comparable to her male counterpart and brother Peneus in terms of wisdom. While in hiding, Vesuvius became enamored with life: something which she sorely lacked in an underground cave. Studying from Peneus and by using her own observations, Vesuvius learned to both respect and influence land as it grows. Under her guidance, the Earth in the Second Age saw it's first trees, flowers, and vegetables. Unfortunately, Vesuvius and her sibling's great societies were destroyed in the Third Age, and afterwards, the family was banished from most of Soreneith in the aftermath of the Great War, leaving her as a timeless sentinel within the remains of the lush expanse of Petrarum's leafy forests. Overlooking the small part of the city she once nurtured, her stone eyes gaze lovingly upon the small yet verdant forest below, now thriving under the stewardship of her loyal followers. The leaves of the trees surrounding her seem to whisper secrets of the past, reminding all who pass by of the enduring bond between nature and civilization, and the unyielding spirit of a deity who continues to protect her beloved domain from afar. |
| The Silva Mater is the forest in which Vesuvius both resides in and overlooks. Filled with both colorful and lush plant life as well as dark, twisted mazes, populations of peaceful worshippers as well as more zealous and malicious dragons have formed under Vesuvius's fertile yet unpredictable wing of the Clan. Vesuvius doesn't accept material offerings, instead, one gains favor with her by respecting her land, appreciating nature, and living a life of peace, no matter if that be within her forest boundaries or not. |
