Growing up in the Dragonhome was an honour for Akusaa. Her parents ensured she learned about not only her Clan's history, but the history of Sorneith as well; the duties of her Flight were passed on to her. She learned to carve monuments and to create wonders out of the world around her. There was nothing else in all of Sorneith that Akusaa loved more, nothing she was prouder of - except her older sister, Ashirat. Ashirat was a talented dragon with a big heart, and she always encouraged Akusaa to follow her passions.

When Ashirat told her family that she was leaving for the rest of the world, Akusaa was devastated. She didn't know what to do, for she could not bear to lose her sister, her best friend. But could she leave her homeland? Akusaa knew she fit in perfectly in the Dragonhome, but she couldn't imagine living without her sister. With a hardened heart, Akusaa announced to her Clanmates that she would also leave. Ashirat was surprised, but did not turn her sibling down - if Akusaa's passions told her to follow her sister, then who was Ashirat to stop her?

The two found their new home in the Sea of a Thousand Currents, in the Clan of High Seas. Here, Akusaa slowly began to peel herself away from her sister, finding a comfort zone for herself. She offered her services to construct the Clan's nests and dens, working with living coral and water-carved stones. It was a challenge, but she enjoyed it. Ashirat watched, proudly, to see her younger sister find herself once more.

It was also here where Akusaa found her mate. Shor's stories and Akusaa's keen hold on history blend together almost seamlessly; they greatly enjoy each others' company. Shor leaves home to explore quite often, but Akusaa doesn't mind - she has learned to let her loved ones go where they please, without having to follow like a lovesick Hainu. When her mate is away, Akusaa keeps preoccupied with her battle training; the staff she carries is her favourite weapon. She is reckless, both in battle and in her sculpting, but she somehow manages to avoid injury, much to her Clanmates' relief.
