Chiae takes an interest in alchemy from a young age. His parents, beign a morbid pair themselves, encourage his interest in constructs. He puts togther salamanders and mice, showing remarkable promise for his age. Even so, something is lacking. All of his creations breathe for mere hours before falling inanimate once more, no matter how lifelike they may look.

Seeking further tutelage, Chiae travels to Polareis, where he apprentices under Magisa. Having taken on a most ambitious project, Magisa is grateful for his assistance. And while her tutelage lacks patience, Chiae learns quickly, and proves his worth when it comes to fine details. He contributes much to Vythri's appearance, taking direction from Hemlock himself.

Even so, it's Magisa's next project that Chiae likes best. A slender and athletic build, Neisseria has Chiae's heart even before she draws her first breath. Her spirit arrives restless, ready for adventure and chaos. And while she is not allowed to socialize with the rest of the clan, Chiae can't bear to see her locked away as Vythri is. He manages to convince Magisa to allow him to take her out into the wilderness from time to time. Promising that no harm will befall her, he spends hours hunting and talking with her.

Even so, it never fades from his mind that her soul is a stand-in, merely keeping the flesh warm for Magisa's arrival.
