Neisseria awakens with her senses as sharp as can be, itching to make something happen. For weeks, she is not allowed to leave her narrow den, poked and prodded by Magisa as the older dragon prepares her flesh for a new soul. The existential dread of the situation doesn't bother Neisseria in the slightest. As all dragons come to an end, so too will she. More importantly, she wishes to enjoy the present.

And eventually, thanks to Chiae's persuasion, she is allowed this. Though she has neither permission for nor interest in socializing with the rest of the clan, Chiae takes her out into the wilderness. Together, they chase down prey, living viciously and vibrantly for a couple nights a month. Looking forward to these nights as much as she does, it still takes Neisseria a while to realize that her affection is as much for Chiae himself as for the world he shows her.
