Clan Dark-Blood's flag
Born to be a warrior, Moirai was sent off to another clan to train. When she returned, she bore the scars of a seasoned warrior, and was placed into the Dark-Blood clan as a guard. When not required to guard their lair, Moirai often goes with Dero to help train the inexperienced.

Moirai captured a Sentinel Mith shortly after her first excursion to the Golem Workshop. Dero, who was in a party with her, was as surprised as Truthseeker was.

Moirai occasionally goes to a nearby Plague clan, called The Hunting Party, to assist them in training to become stronger.

[insert more! filler here!]
Heirs must be many things in Clan Dark-Blood. They must possess extraordinary strength, whether it be of the physical or mental variety. They must have dedication in spades, a loyalty to their clan that cannot be surpassed. They must know the traditions of their forefathers better than their own hearts in order to carry them on in the generations to come. These are the three things heirs cannot go without.

But if you ask Moirai, there is a fourth quality that is necessary for heirs, one that makes a better leader than the other three combined: compassion. If one does not love the members of their clan with all of their heart, then they cannot truly lead the way. And even more important, compassion is not a weakness. It is a strength, perhaps the greatest one of all, and Moirai relies on it heavily.

She has always had a great deal of empathy to spare. Since she was young, even with her father steering her deep into the traditions of the clan, Moirai always pulled away, setting aside time in her busy heiress schedule to be at ease with the other dragons in her clan. Without prompting, she made every effort to learn names, roles, histories, and more, and though sometimes she made mistakes, she was always in earnest, and thus always forgiven. The effort she put into connecting herself to the dragons she would one day be expected to lead was outstanding, especially for someone so very young. She won the hearts of her clan early because they had already won hers. It was as simple as that.

She became a warrior with time, which was perhaps unexpected, but nonetheless, she excelled. Once again, her compassion gave her a great advantage; she would not enter battle blindly when there were still negotiations to be had, but she would not allow an enemy to make unreasonable demands at the cost of her allies' safety. Moirai knew where her heart lay when it came down to the wire, but until then, she was prepared to offer the benefit of the doubt to anyone who appeared deserving of it, if only for a while.

Perhaps it was this compassion that also led her to bring home so many familiars. During her first outing to the Golem Workshop, she stunned everyone by making peace with a Sentinel Mith, which happily followed her home at the end of the day. Later excursions to other venues yielded similar results; the creatures Clan Dark-Blood vied with saw something in Moirai that called to them, and once they deferred to her, she offered them her trust and respect. There has yet to be a familiar that has taken advantage of that fairness once it has been given, something still more stunning yet.

Now that she is an adult, Moirai has taken up the position of trainer. She has never been able to separate herself from the rush of a fight, not truly, and her time is currently devoted to training the younger members of Clan Dark-Blood in combat so that they may defend themselves and their clan from harm. The hatchlings revere her as a great warrior (a more than fair assessment), and very few struggle under her tutelage, so eager are they to please the great mistress of battle. Some even follow her everywhere, only returning to their nests at night when she gently threatens them with extra training drills in the morning, an admonishment that sometimes gets ignored by the hatchlings that actually enjoy running drills.

When she is not dogged by warriors in training, though, Moirai spends her time sparring with older dragons to keep their skills sharp, or at the clan boundaries, patrolling for any signs of intruders and keeping a vigilant guard against the lurking terrors of the Tangled Wood. She takes all of her duties very seriously, and in times of duress, she has taken it upon herself to keep Clan Dark-Blood safe, even though that is not a duty that falls to her and her alone. She has also, in a sense, adopted the Hunting Party, a pack of Mirrors in alliance with her own clan. For a few days each month, she lives with them and trains them in battle, gradually improving their skills while preserving an old and beneficial alliance. The Hunting Party has reaped great benefits from her tutelage, and should the need ever arise, it is likely that they will be happy to come to Clan Dark-Blood's aid in thanks for Moirai's services.

Until then, Moirai continues to train even as she continues to hope for lasting peace in the Shadowbinder's lands. Her family has started to press her to find a mate, but she has evaded the subject quite thoroughly; compassion is her strength, but romance is not, and she much prefers to be without that particular sort of attachment. The safety and well-being of Clan Dark-Blood is more important to her by far, and she will never let them down so long as she lives.
