Kelpie was first on the scene from Meristema when the Fathoms arrived. Underwater exploration is her forte, but as eager as she was to help, she was equally curious about the Fathoms themselves. She marvelled at their dexterity in the water and wished they had the time to pause in their search for her to question them. The Fathoms were kind and endlessly appreciative of her help, and although she wasn't quite so well adapted as them, they also seemed to marvel at her aquatic abilities. When the search came to an end, Pathfinder and Pioneer became her firm friends and asked to return to Meristema with her. They were ready for a new adventure, and Kelpie was overjoyed to bring them into her family. Family was very much on her mind as she had left Trik incubating their nest while she assisted in the search. Pathfinder was fascinated by the methods of terrestrial nest construction and the abundance of flowers in their territory. He and Pioneer blessed the nest, saying it was the least they could do. Pioneer even draped a string of delicate peach pearls around the eggs. The nest hatched two days later, with two of the children emerging from their eggs as Fathoms.  Kelpie leant much from her Fathom friends, and they learnt just as much from her. She realise that she was effectively making an intergration programme by teaching them the ways of Terrestrial Sornieth but also knowing enough about their breed to ease any difficulties. She understood their restlessness, and advised that they could actually use it to their advantage by finding clan roles like perimeter guard, swim coach, ocean rescue, or seafood forager. Kelpie continues to learn as much as she can about Fathom culture and customs, and has become an honorary member of Pathfinder and Pioneer's original pod, meeting them when they reconvene on special occasions.
