PERSONALITY
Quiet and bookish, Cluaran is every bit as much his parents' child as Caonach but is different in nearly every way. Still, when Caonach vanished on his pilgrimage, Cluaran realized he cared more about his brother's wellbeing than he wanted to admit. Traveling on his own in the Southern Icefield has been a harsh adjustment for a dragon so used to the Shifting Expanse; Caonach's trail is full of dead ends; and he's worried that Kaavie will force him to return home should they meet... and yet, he doesn't regret leaving home in the slightest.

HISTORY
Cluaran was still a teenager when Caonach left on his journey. The two hadn't been particularly close, occasionally sharing work under their father's watchful eye or sparring at their mother's behest. An introvert preferring to avoid confrontation, Caonach's sometimes volatile, argumentative nature rubbed Cluaran the wrong way, and he had been secretly glad to see his brother sent off to the Ice Flight to join an order.

There were no letters from Caonach the first month. This was unusual, but he had probably been held up on the way.

There were no letters the second month. There were disquiet rumblings amongst the Cadavery, a worried look about his parents' eyes, but Caonach may have been busy.

The third month, Avogadro made the long journey home to check on him, only to discover he had never arrived at the Fortress of Ends.

The fourth month, Kaavie left the Cadavery to hunt for her son.

The fifth month, claws restless, unwilling to remain in the thick, uncomfortable atmosphere of home, Cluaran left his father a note and began his own journey to the Southern Icefield.

CONNECTIONS

Cluaran had been on the road for months by the time he found Little Snow. Heilinn was happy to speak with him and offered him a room for the night. It is, in part, Heilinn's hospitality that has kept Cluaran investigating this particular dead end instead of following others. The Bogsneak treats him like family, and Cluaran is beginning to realize that that's something he's missed.

The inhabitants of Little Snow whisper quietly of the Stormview Resort, an ancient structure on the mountain lost to time. Strings of recent disappearances have superstitious dragons worried that the Resort is somehow responsible. A dragon matching Caonach's description was last seen leaving town in the direction of the slopes. It seems unlikely- impossible, even- but Cluaran can't let go of this niggling, awful feeling that Caonach's disappearance is somehow related...

Somewhere out in this snowy expanse, Cluaran knows his mother is relentlessly pursuing his brother's trail. If word has reached her that Cluaran is gone too, she is doubtlessly hunting him as well. Cluaran isn't scared of Kaavie, but when she finds him, she will demand he return home... and Cluaran refuses to do so until he knows what happened to Caonach. He isn't looking forward to the confrontation.

Liev is distant, grumpy, and quiet. He's also a talented woodsman looking for a daughter he cares deeply about. Cluaran has gotten fairly decent at keeping himself alive out in the forests around Little Snow, but having the veilspun around is reassuring. It helps that they get along well enough; Liev seems to enjoy having someone to look after, and their searches tend to be executed in a companionable silence.
