Cheerful and optimistic--you'd never know how insecure he is. Both desperate to please and terrified to offend, Kishima makes a habit of apologizing and attempting to diffuse tense situations. He's a firm believer in the laugh it off method despite its many downsides.

Unlike their Coatl cousins, most Banescales abstain from craft and trade work due to their lack of forelimbs. Kishima has never been one to let the world tell him what he can and can't do, however. Or, well, he was but he's not anymore. Now he's a dragon that does good things, for good reasons, because he genuinely wants to. He's someone you can depend on, someone you can trust--or at least he's trying to be.

Anyway. The point is that Kishima does stuff because he wants to, not because of what other people do or say, and the things that he chooses to do are not typically things that Banescales do, apparently. Exhibit A: Kishima is an artisan who works with gems and stone. Most people call him a stonemason, as he quarries his own stone; but you could also call him a jeweller, as he cuts, facets, and polishes all his own precious stones; but then, he is also a sculptor, carving over life-sized statues full of majesty and grandeur. Rather, Kishima is a jack-of-all-stone-and-gem-trades, and his lack of hands merely a minor inconvenience. He has a tail, two wings and a mouth, after all. With enough practice and skill, those are all he really needs to create beautiful works and masterpieces.

As the clan's resident Master Stonemason and one of its many talented sculptors, Kishima is the creator or co-creator of all the diety statues and statuettes. He frequently collaborates with other artisans in the clan, such as the enchantress Zahara and his forge-partners Taiga and Hearth, to imbue their works with life and power. Kishima is also responsible for providing the forge with raw materials like ore and coal. He considers Taiga to be his senpai, but also one of his best bros. Hearth is also his best bro, but definitely not his senpai. His friendship with Zahara is somewhat different, although no less close, and he frequently provides her with specific gems and precious stones required for finicky spellwork. Likewise, if there's ever an idea he has that requires a bit of enchanting, she has no problem providing the magic.

Together their little team of artisans has created numerous works for the rest of the Clan: in the library, the Guest Greeter and Marble Lightweaver statues; in the Tomb, the Brass Knocker; in the forge, the Porphyry Flamecaller and Rusty Golem. At the highest point of the lair stands their Sandstone Stormcatcher statue, which serves as a lightning rod that harvests the lightning's energy in a generator.

Although Kishima has tried to sway Mai with gifts, so far he hasn't been successful in convincing her to train him as well as Taiga. He knows the basics of fighting, but would really benefit from the help of a real expert--someone whose life revolves around battle. It would help even more if they were a Banescale, capable of showing him moves optimized for their breed body type.

Of course, even if they couldn't fight at all, Kishima would love it if a Banescale joined the clan. he doesn't need a whole swarm or anything, but just one other Banescale would be nice. Singing with the Coatls is nice, of course, but... it's just not the same.
