Teddi

Stitched by Linen from scraps left over from a previous project, this little plushie was given to a hatchling that was plagued from bad dreams and her parents requested a toy from Linen. Dream weavers have been summoned to help the child, but some feared that it was a work of a horrid Beast trying to get her. Suddenly, this plushie's eyes began to glow as the Dream weavers started their work again. This small thing had helped they fight the nightmares. Their family elders, twins - Roya and Grantley were called to examine the creature who refused to leave the hatchling's side. They have heard rumors of this Daydream Teddy but only from stories. Over the course of a week, the teddy never left the young hatchling's side until she no longer was plagued by nightmares - the Beast must have moved on or she had just calmed from an overactive mind. Now Teddi wonders the clan at night, looking for more nightmares to fight.




TEDDIES

"Teddies share a common root with Sandmen, in the sense that they used to not have a physical form. But eventually, they have learned how to take residence in stuffed toys to navigate the physical world and get easy access to sleeping dragons. At first glance they appear as toys or living dolls. But they possess powerful dream magic and are exceptional fighters, despite their stature.

More than anything, they love fighting, especially nightmares. They work great with lucid dreamers who can participate in the epic fighting montage and control the dream to add more excitement and suspense. Out of all the Daydreams, Teddies are the most commonly remembered, even after years had passed since a particular dream. Childhood memories are hard to get rid of, after all.

In some clans, it's tradition for Teddies to get passed down from grandparents to parents to children, practically bonding the Teddy with half the clan. In these cases, the Teddy cares for all its owners, no matter how many generations have passed, and rotates between them each night. It's not a wide-spread phenomenon, but it happens sometimes. Unlike Sandmen, Teddies don't care for the age of their dreamers. As long as they're having nightmares, the doll look-alikes will be there to protect them and help them face their fears and anxieties.

A special variety of Teddies are the handmade ones who, just like their appearance, their personalities aren't perfect. Because they were made by an inexperienced Weaver, dollmaker or even experimenting magician, their character is all over the place, meaning they're unpredictable and can even be malicious. Unlike regular Teddies, who are generally good-natured. They keep their love for theatrical fighting though, no matter what kind of amalgamation of personality traits they end up with."
