Rhapsody grew up at odds with both of her parents. Both being military minded, they wished for her to pursue the fighting arts. Rhapsody, on the other hand, had no interest in warfare. Instead she found an interest in her surroundings. Exploring was a means of release from the daily lessons in fighting she received from her mother. Her father assumed these sessions were spent scouting for enemies and approved. This means of escape became more and more common as she got older, the pressure to join the clan's fighting force growing with each year towards adulthood.

One source of relief from the pressure was her friend, Mikan. He and his parents were a source of comfort for her. A brave individual, Rhapsody would do anything, no matter how dangerous. How could she not, given her parents? She began daring Mikan to do various things, knowing that the other was less adventurous than she was. One day, she dared him to kiss her and that was the start of their relationship.

When Mikan decided to leave the clan, Rhapsody went with him. Still not sure what she wanted to do with her life, she was certain about what she didn't want to do, which was following in her parents' footsteps. As much as she loved them, she refused to follow any path set out for her without her consent. She was the one who decided their travel path, trying to choose locations which would help Mikan's skills grow. It was on one of their stops that she finally found her true love.
While in the Shrieking Wilds, she found a small flower. Carefully digging it up, she transported it with her and cultivated it until they found a home with the Hotaru Clan.

Rhapsody was excited to develop her own lair, discussing her plans with Mikan and constantly changing her mind. Eventually, after speaking at length with Sachiel and Nuriel, Rhapsody decided that the only thing she wanted was a greenhouse to grow her flowers in. When their lair was finally complete, Rhapsody was shocked to see a small greenhouse attached. Mikan had kept it a secret from her during it's build and she was surprised and ecstatic.

Setting up the small, purple rose, Mikan began focusing on growing more, picking each strain for their color. She eventually travelled back to the Shrieking Wilds, gathering more specimens to grow. Delighting in her newfound hobby, Rhapsody began a small business of buying and selling roses. She also began learning the meaning behind their colors. The first rose she had found symbolized eternal love. It felt like destiny, whenever she looked at Mikan.

Her small side business gained a few loyal customers. Link began visiting so frequently that she began giving him a discount. She knew where his roses were going and so she would take extra care to pick ones which would bring out Zelda's scales. Her most memorable visit was from Terra, who showed up red in the face and stuttering as he tried to pick a purple rose for one of his friends.

Name origin: Named after the Rhapsody Rose, a purple rose.
