"Astrology is the language of the stars."
It was a mistake. He'd been too lazy to climb the cliffs to the Lightweaver's Domain and instead decided to cut through the Shadowbinder's Realm. Sirius had been walking through a dark forest, captivated by the many different glowing mushrooms, when he suddenly blacked out. Waking up, he heard the faint sounds of laughter, stumbling out of the woods to find others looking at him with fear and awe. When Sirius finally got a chance to look at himself in the water, he knew why. The face looking out at him was not his own. Finishing his journey, he joined the Hotaru Clan, uncertain of what to do. He met a few others like himself; Yoru was a different species but cursed as well whileNihmedu and Andromeda were like him. He began trying to get to know them more. While Nihmedu was the more approachable, Sirius found himself captivated by Andromeda's looks. As a result, he would join her as she star-gazed, occasionally offering his own interpretation of the night sky. |
While Andromeda would often scoff at his readings of the stars, Sirius was convinced that his power of foretelling was manifesting through the patterns in the stars, making the study an art as he read dragons' future based on the pertinent star signs. Andromeda lets him use her star charts for this purpose, provided he does not mark them up in any way. He respects her wishes, treating them as carefully as he would his own life.
While he knows Andromeda is still wounded in some way from her experience, Sirius still hopes that one day she will turn her gaze away from the stars and back to him. Until that day, he will continue to read other's fortunes using the constellations she loves so much.
