"I can live in agony at my own existence, or I can make peace with it and recognize my life is worth living all the same."

  A B O U T
Adrienne is very rarely seen by the other clan members, only occasionally glimpsed as a pale ghost in the night. Their scales and skin are thin and bleached of color, highly susceptible to sun damage. Though albinism is not unheard of in dragons, Adrienne's colorless eyes, tinted pink only by the blood vessels beneath, are a true rarity. On the chance they do introduce themself, it is as an arcane dragon for simplicity’s sake.

Because of their aversion to sunlight, Hermia has recruited them into the night watch, keeping an eye on the clan’s borders and rousing the others for anything out of the ordinary. So few dragons are awake during the night that the position pays handsomely. Adrienne has been able to afford to drape their delicate skin with layers of fabric to protect them on the occasion that they venture out during the day. If Hermia realizes they are not a fellow arcane dragon, she does not remark on it.

Their shifts occasionally overlap with Celeste’s, who keeps watch during the times surrounding dawn and dusk. At Adrienne’s request, she has taught them a few defensive maneuvers with a dagger. Occasionally they can be seen conversing, more recently about poetry.

The closest they have come to a steady friendship is with Cull, the clan’s resident butcher. Though Adrienne was initially wary when the tundra recognized their magical condition out of seemingly thin air, the two have since settled into a more comfortable companionship.

Though Adrienne usually passes as an off-color Arcane dragon, they were born under the Plague element. Their magical stores were severely stunted from childhood, to the point where they cannot survive for an extended period of time without consuming the magic of other Plague dragons to sustain themself. Without it, they begin to waste away.

Their condition meant that they were ostracized from their birth flight at an early age, as few Plague dragons have patience for those they deem to be a drain on resources. They were able to find safe harbor by travelling into the Starfall Isles, the land of their sire’s ancestors. A guild of Arcane healers took them in, diagnosing them with a magical deficit and studying their unique illness in great detail.

As the years passed, however, they grew restless and discomforted at being viewed as a medical curiosity. Though grateful to the guild for their treatment, they ultimately ran away, chasing the rumor of a trio of healers in the Dragonhome.

Though Rook and Dapperling could do little to cure their underlying condition, they have ensured that Adrienne remain as healthy as possible with access to a steady supply of Plague-magic-infused blood.
