Tashi

Tashi was once a spiral, and from lightning flight. Her clan was one that believed in using technology mixed with nature to create a better, sustainable future. She believed in that cause, but was a young dragon and spent more time focusing on fun. That focus took her off across the land, in search of new and interesting things to do and people to party study seriously with. Then one day the power of the Earthshaker remade her. It was the power of the earth, but she was still a lightning dragon. It was almost like the belief of her clan in mixing science and nature came to life inside her. Something else came to life as well, now she wanted to use the power of electricity to protect.

The change and the impulse came upon her as she was attempting to see how high she could fly. She was so high she couldn't get enough air and then suddenly she was frozen... she fell free for an endless moment then burst from her shell with a roar that could never come from a spiral. The change was dizzying, disorienting. Tashi ended up half crashing into a kite. Then an Imperial swept her up as if she was a small hatching, before settling back down on an aerial platform. It bobbed only slightly under their combined weight. The Imperial studied her with lovely wind green eyes, and said gently, "Ah you're one of the new ones. Sirocco came to us only a few days ago, and now you. I feel this clan gathers protectors sometimes." She smiled gently and waited patiently while Tashi got her bearings.

If the Imperial hadn't been large and sparkling in the sun, Tashi might have blocked her out entirely in her own shock. She'd helped bring a few things to the expedition that found the Obelisks. Everyone had. But how had this happened? Had she snorted too much magical dust as the Obelisks shed their shells? Eaten it? A shake of her head tossed the unfamiliar mane and she took a moment to stretch. Something joyful surged through her and she barely held back another roar. "I'm Tashi." She flexed her claws, feeling that they were now more impressive. Protect them. Echoes of feelings made her head spin again, but she managed to catch that the Imperial was named Treasure... and perhaps vaguely embarrassed about that.

Treasure eventually brought her to another platform holding a fanciful bamboo structure, and the other Obelisk dragon. It made Tashi feel more disoriented, as if she should move on because there was already one protector here, and yet... somehow it felt like Treasure expected her to stay. While she was pondering this, Sirocco eyed her up and asked, "There are warriors here to protect, but how do we hide them?" It was a valid question, considering the mass of platforms and airships and kites was incredibly visible. Tashi shook herself again and smiled at her new companion, suddenly catching hold of her old confidence and certainty. "Magic, the winds, the clouds, the storm. We will figure it out. We will figure it out with them."
