Okopipi

Named for the poison frog, Okopipi is the clans Alchemist. She was born a normal little crystal dragon, and was adopted by a wild windy lair. As she grew older and her wings became stronger, Pyrite took her on tours of the lair to show her all the small woven rooms floating together in the wild Crescendo winds. During a fascinating tour of the alchemy room, the spinning spiral knocked the young wildclaw into the brew. Her crystal scales melted in the acidic brew, and when she climbed out she was spotted.. and extremely poisonous. Alchemy became her passion and she didn't even mind that the others had to avoid touching her. The ingredients didn't seem to mind her toxins and her brews became well known. her skills in high demand. It made her feel so proud. After hesitating for quite some time due to her poisonous nature, she met a fellow who was irresistible. Besides, she was a Wildclaw, she needed to honor her family by having eggs of her own. Unfortunately she had been right to hesitate, even as they watched their nest, Marinus slowly sickened. Twin girls hatched, their hides the same colour as their fathers, but as mottled and toxic as their mothers. While this meant she didn't have to worry about touching her hatchlings, it seemed to only speed the progression of poison in Marinus' system until shortly after the birth of the hatchlings, he moved on to serve the Windsinger as only a god was capable of caring for him now. The next time she was determined to find a tougher mate. She found a coatl who seemed ready for battle and he was from the frigid ice floes. Surely his constitution was strong? Sadly it seemed he was no more resistant to poison than her lost love, and only her two eggs kept Okopipi from falling to depression. A wildclaw must have eggs, must increase the prestige of their family. This time she found another strong Ice wildclaw with a hide made of crystals. Still it was not enough. He hung on slightly longer than the others, seeing their four children hatch and begin to grow, but then he too succumbed to poison and left to serve the Windsinger. Okopipi was left sad, but she had held her heart away this time. Still she felt she could not have more hatchlings, could she try once more now that she was sure to have children was next to murder? Even if the Windsinger held her dear ones alive, they had no choice but to go to him or perish forever. Then one day a coatl came to clan Peacebound. His wings shared the same toxic mottling as her own, though with bright red warning colours added. Saiphos was sweet, he was romantic, and he was determined. Okopipi could not resist as after all he had toxins of his own and perhaps he would not have to leave her.
