B I O G R A P H Y

______ As a young child, February's muted colors were regarded as a bad omen as so often occurs in coatl nests. Though her parents tried to protect her from exile, the clan ignored their pleas, and February herself had the same thoughts that perhaps it would be best if she left. So, she let herself be ousted from the clan, and from all coatl clans.

______ On her own, for a long time she wandered, her hopes of finding a new home slowly dwindling. Eventually, she gave up on her desire to find a place for herself… and it was then that a flickering ghostly light appeared to her. With nothing left to lose, February followed the spirit for hours, finally emerging onto a well-worn path lit by the stars above. The spirit then revealed its true form to her-a Gloomwillow Guide. It beckoned her further, down the path, and she continued to follow.

______ A firefly emerged from the surrounding woods, ice-blue light emanating from it. Then another, and another, and another, until she was the centerpiece in a swarm as she approached the end of the road.

______ The path opened up into a large clearing, given light by bioluminescent mushrooms and moonlight dappling through the trees, and February knew by some instinct she was unaware of that this was a haven for the lost, like her, and the fireflies were guides to it. She was led there for a reason, for a purpose; to aid the fireflies in finding homes for the lost and hopeless.

______ She knew far too intimately the feeling of being abandoned, the knowledge there was no place for her. If she could save other dragons from that fate… she’d do anything. So, February accepted the duty the fireflies were asking of her, and became the Harbinger of Hope.

______ With the fireflies as her guide, and her compassion as her driving force, February went on to rescue the dragons who needed a home or a helping hand, eventually being led to her future mate November. Together, February and November provide a safe haven and home for those dragons until they can find a place to settle permanently.
