"All motion halted to a standstill. Akira drew close, his face under his cracked mask, eyeing his opponent with empathetic sorrow. Ana thought he was looking into the face of an angel, coming to reap his very soul. In Akira’s eyes was the peace of a single candle upon an altar."

He holds an unknown accent from somewhere no dragon is aware of that causes him to mess up words and speak in short, blunt sentences when communicating, but even so, his abilities make up for it. Many dragons find him rather endearing with his social handicap - his oblivious nature not catching on. He does not tend to talk about his feelings unless they are close, nor enjoys any sort of small talk - as he prefers to chat in more secluded and relaxed environments where talks are long. He makes up for his lack of direct communication with his gentle nature, often leaving dragons who helped him small gifts later, even if they were complete strangers. He is very protective of those he cares for, despite not verbally being able to say what comes to mind. His defining flaw would be his incredible sympathy, as even though it is one of his greatest and well-respected attributes it is also his biggest weakness. Furthermore, he often struggles with the thought that he cannot save everyone, consistently leaving him in mourning. Everyone in the kingdom sees him as a gentle soul, never one to speak out of turn and admits to his mistakes. What especially captivates hearts is the one large thing about him that contrasts all the other warriors; instead of striking down foes and carrying on, he prays that their soul finds peace - and often his victims meet a hasty and peaceful end. Above all, he holds a warming aura around him which can either calm his acquaintances down or catch an enemy by surprise. Overall, he has proven himself to be a loyal and strong warrior, ready to claim one’s life like an angel reaping a soul. ________________________________________ |

He was mentored by a much older Gaoler while he was very young, who was skilled in swordsmanship. There he was taught to always ponder the pain his enemy must’ve held within their past and share sympathy no matter what they have done; and yet still have the ability to not hold back. "Offering a quick death is the greatest gift you could give to unfortunate souls" - that was one of the first lessons a young Akira learned. "Stay swift yet slow enough to think", "strike gracefully, but hard enough to kill", and "appear calm yet fierce" - he held those to heart. Additionally, his habit of praying for the dead was his own doing. Overall, Akira is one who quietly enjoys his place in the Amethyst. He remains loyal to his kingdom while simultaneously standing loyal to his morals and heart. He knows he cannot save everyone, a burden all must realize, but he still strives to save as much as possible - to become someone everyone can rely on without hesitation. ________________________________________ |

Extra:
- Akira's personality was created to contrast the often dark and more serious traits of my other dragons, does he cross the line of Mary-sue? That's up for you to decide; because he will appreciate you nonetheless.
- When he wields his sword, the flames that engulfed it are not normal flames, but instead blue and more luminous flames. Other than that, the flames produced by his body are orange.
- His feathers are abnormally long and plumed, further amplifying his beauty
- He really loves minty and cool food despite his fire element, he believes it calms his mind
- When he prays, he doesn't pray to one God - he prays to the 'Gods of many names'. Basically, he does not believe in one thing or another, he accepts all Deities who will hear his prayers.
- Many, many men tried to flirt with him mistaking him for a woman - never ended well
- He is indifferent to love, he doesn't seek it out nor is against the prospect.

Akira & Oa
TW: description of blood and injury (Ora, not owned by me, is based off of a wendigo)
Akira held the other's gaze steadily, breath fogging over the cool air as drops of his own blood caressed his face, leaving behind a brief tingle of warmth against the chilling breeze. The dragon over him was trembling even more than the wounded warrior, uncontrollable jaws clamped tightly over the skydancer's arm. His eyes were filled with pure fright and dread, eyes that true murderer could never have.
Only their ragged frantic breaths filled the silence.
The young warrior's mind wavered back and forth: How long since he left the kingdom? How long since he encountered the Pronghorn Stomper? How long have they been like this, a suffocating struggle for survival? Akira could tell at first glance, despite the deranged appearance, how much pain this dragon was in. Despite being worn, wounded, and pinned - sympathy still found it's way in Akira's heart. This dragon.. he isn't different from the other dragons he had protected from beasts - the fear, the tears, the despair.
He wants to help.. he wants to save them..
"Please," He rasped, his usually soft voice in shatters. He didn't have a plan, but he was not one to give up; "Breathe."
The wildclaw's teary eyes widened, enough so that his icy blue eyes revealed themselves. Why was this dragon asking him to breathe? He can barely even hear his own breathing over the sound of his heart pounding against his ears. Not only that - what if he did, and lost the small restraint he had over his inner beast? Then, this delicate-looking skydancer...
HUNGRY
Suddenly, the wildclaw felt his jaw forcibly clamp harder into the dragon's arm. The sickening taste of metal flooding his mouth and his heart twinged at the shattering sound of a pained yell.
SO HUNGRY
Oa squeezed his eyes shut, tears freely falling now. He frantically tried to remember how to breathe, was he even still alive after all that he's done? Breathe.. Breathe.. Breathe..
BREATHE
He gasped for air, releasing his grip from the younger dragon's arm. He barely registered what had happened before a sharp kick to the gut made him recoil in shock, sending him onto his back. He was met with the skydancer once again, a look of pain and pity filling the stranger's flaming eyes.
Akira was surprised to see his arm still intact, however, he couldn't feel it at all.
He inhaled, and swiftly stabbed his bloodied katana into the cloak of the possessed dragon to keep him in place against the flat layer of snow. As expected, the entity controlling them desperately squirmed about, trying to reach the warrior.
The skydancer turned and reached for his cracked mask with his working arm, placing the remnants over his face. He leaned close to the struggling dragon, just far enough to avoid the frantic snapping of their jaws. Once the wildclaw, or perhaps the entity within them, grew weary Akira carefully lifted a trembling talon; caressing the tear-stained face of the stranger.
"I want help you." His strange accent fumbled his words, however the determination in his eyes never faltered. "I will help."
Crossbones would simply not let up at the gates of the royal guards and soldiers. A rather particularly perturbed shadowy-colored fae in dark armor scowled at him.
"Please, I promise I won't be any bother," Crossbones tried again. "If I could just see her once more again. Ah, I may even have something for her she could use-!"
"The answer is NO." Athena growled at him. "How many times must I say, Commander Ashahina must rest from her battle! Now leave! Before you are forced to!"
Crossbones looked a bit crestfallen, but he persisted, that is until the gates opened to let out another royal guard. "Won't you please let her know I was here then? And I...had some...kind words for...her..." Crossbones's wandering eyes widened, following the lovely feathered skydancer that just left the gates. His throat had no air, and his jaw loosened with no words left. Athena looked at him and then at the light and beautiful skydancer casually walking away to the nearby tavern for soldiers. She had a smirk on her face, unseen.
Crossbones' eyes lit up like a fire which was suddenly fed sulfur. "Wwwoah now-!~ Who is that sweet angelic creature?~"
Athena did not hint at anything. "That is Akira." she simply said. "Newest among the ranks. Still young, but very skilled in combat."
Crossbones' eyes fixated on Akira, and disregarded anything else around him. He finally breathed again, his smile wide as a toridae. "Not too young to drink it seems though. Oh, excuse me please!~ I must do something about this lady stealing my breath from me so quickly.~"
Without another word, he slithered and slipped his way over to the tavern and took a seat right beside Akira. Akira hardly moved over to accommodate, and quietly guarded his mask beside him as he sipped a mixed nectar. Crossbones made it rather easy to be noticed however, smirking at the skydancer with a flirty gaze. "Hello there.~ I hope you don't think me rude to ask if I could buy you a drink?~"
Akira looked at the drink in his claws and held it up a little, silently looking back with some confusion.
"Oh-! Of course you already have one!" Crossbones chuckled. "I meant the next one.~ Or your meal.~ Surely you need a break from the training you must go through.~ You know. Stretch your wings a bit, unwind.~ All that?~"
Akira gave a small but beautiful smile, scoffing a bit and sipping his drink. Crossbones gleefully smiled back. "Great steaming geysers, you're just as gorgeous with a smile as without!~ Do you know that?~" Crossbones then ordered a drink of his own, with mint to freshen his breath. "The guard at the gate told me of you. Mentioned you are rather new among this kingdom.~ But she did neglect to tell me, " he took a sip and smirked with a soft glare. "that you're a thief."
Akira's smile vanished and his eyes appeared most wary. He looked to Crossbones with doubt. "Yes, it's true." Crossbones insisted. "Did you not notice that you stole my very breath, my very heart from me?~" He grinned, sliding closer. "I could hardly stand on my own legs over there when you walked out.~ Why, I felt like a little helpless bumble, a mere mith with the rings of my heart captured under my snout. I ought to accuse you of enchanting me, how dare you, you gorgeous heavenly thing.~"
Opening his mouth to speak, Akira was suddenly stopped, interrupted by Crossbone's insistent flirting. "And a fire dragoness no less!~" He scoffed, smirking with a look of admiration. "Oh, most impressive too!~ I would not have guessed, were it not for your eyes.~ Being this close, they look like smoldering ashes from a dying blaze, glowing ever so warmly but quiet.~" He slid closer, nearly nestling into Akira's shoulder. "Being this close too, I can feel a warmth there.~ So small and shy, and fickle.~" He sipped from his drink and sighed. "But I like that.~ Ladies exhibit stronger heat are difficult to appease.~ But a thief like you, I might consider a proposal of reciprocity...involving some gold.~" He chuckled handsomely. "Unless of course, you'd rather return from me what you stole.~"
Akria gave a small airy chuckle himself, a little flustered and flattered a male came up to flirt with him. Crossbones looked more patient and fascinated, leaning on the wood and eyeing him, while relaxing and sipping his drink. "What say you, Akira?~ Thief of beauty?~"
He finally spoke, preening some of his feathers a bit and leaving his own drink alone. "You're quite funny. Never knew Imperials could be funny."
Crossbones froze mid-swallow, upon hearing Akira's soft, but clearly male voice.
"A dragoness I am not. Still meant you to come here...to of me court?" Akira smiled calmly, eyeing Crossbones with his sultry fire-eyes.
Promptly, Crossbones darted his head away to spit out his drink in total shock. His face flushed with enormous embarrassment and apprehension. Bolting back in his seat he stood with his eyes wide and his mouth agape. "You-! You-! You're not-!? Ah-! Oh! Goodness ME!" He grinned very tightly, overwrought and mortified. His white scales might as well have fallen right off!
"Aheh, if you'll excuse me, I need to retreat into my pyramid of disgrace and humiliation yes excuse me-!" Hastily, Crossbones folded his wings around himself to hide his face and body, leaving only his tail sticking out. It was jagged but still, while he screamed, muffled well by his thick wings around him.
Akira blinked, puzzled by his odd behavior at first. Then chuckled a bit, hiding his amusement with another sip from his drink. "You are not the first to make mistake me for a dragoness." he smiled. "I am sorry I stole from you.~"
Crossbones poked his head out from under his wing and threw his hands up, fixing his mane. "Ah-! Haha! No worries no worries! You gave it back immediately just now! Good on you!" He nearly wheezed before getting up and slamming his treasure on the wood bar to pay for his drink that he didn't even finish. "Thank you for that! Pardon me and my words, huh? Best of luck to you in all you do, and uh," his body was seemingly being pulled by some unnatural force away, at a hurried pace. "well! GOODBYE THEN!" Faster than a jackalope outrunning a dust storm, Crossbones bolted away, and did not look behind him.
Akira smiled, watching his dust trail behind as he left. He finished his drink with a silent look of interest. "Time will heal you, funny Imperial. When you are return, I should await another laugh again...hm.~"
