Ashahina is the fiercest of the warriors, she already had past experiences with violence as a hatchling in her pervious clan. Her father was a "Blood bringer", and frequently pushed his daughter into becoming one as well - contrast to her many siblings who were hatched to be sold - and she was, for a short while. After settling with a spiral from the fire bringers, something told her she didn't belong there - and it only proved her right when she had her final confrontation with her father, which ended up with a permanent scar on her left eye. She was shunned into auction after the fight, the rest of the lair - part from Amannel - persuaded by her aggravated father. She angrily resisted, which brought Meyry's attention. She was ultimately taken in and given the role of the general commander, Ashahina accepted hesitantly.

She's brilliant at planning attacks - as she had many front line experiences - and is entrusted with leading wars. Her second in command, Yagoda, also appreciates her honestly and blunt personality, stating that it's "good to have a brutally honest friend." Ashahina is quite stoic when strangers come up to her, and doesn't seem interested in socializing - her priorities being planning and fighting. This affects her reputation in the clan, and many dragons fear her, though they never fail to continuously show their gratitude for her efforts to protect the clan. She also seems distant to her hatchlings and where she came from, never bringing it up unless asked by Yagoda. But even so, she gives little to no information about what occurred, telling no one but Yagoda about the origin of her scar. She also doesn't seem to feel any affection towards the thought of her children. Her relation to the Queen is simple; she's devoted to her Queen as a dog to it's owner.
