ABOUT. As a tailor, Asper's record was pristine, his references airtight, and everyone who'd had the pleasure of having him in their employ enthused about his work. Matrim scouted him on one of their trips to deities-know-where, and Heracles corresponded with them by letter. By the time the clan met him in person, it was too late. Those other clans, it seemed, were a little to eager to let him go, because Asper turned out to be haughty, distrustful, and rude. Upon meeting Heracles, Asper stared at the guardian and told him that if he wanted any respect as a clan leader, he'd best change out of those tatters. Heracles took it in stride, but spent the next few days glancing a little self-consciously at his clothes. That was Asperata. If he hated what you were wearing, he'd take special care to tell you to your face. Very few dragons tolerate him, fewer still like him. There's little to admire past his extensive and honestly quite impressive portfolio. Say what you will about him, but Asperata knows his stuff. Yes, he'll snap in your face and sometimes intimidates the shyer members of the clan to tears, but he follows requests to a tee (and considers it his duty to go above and beyond). Few other tailors or seamstresses this side of the Wasteland have tinier stitches -- or a shorter fuse. IMPRESSIONS. Goes only by Asper. Call him anything else and he will ignore you. Call him Asperata and he will never talk to you again. Makes this known the second you meet him. Impeccably dressed, even if the weather that day could swelter the scales off a serpent. Has a way of narrowing his eyes that makes anyone under his scrutiny immediately become very self-conscious. Consider yourself lucky if he gives you tips on how to dress. PAST. Had the privilege of the mentorship of a harsh, whip-smart seamstress in the Sea of a Thousand Currents. She treated her apprentices like they were less than dirt but bestowed everything she knew upon them. Asper turned out to be one of her star students, which meant that he got yelled at the most. Emotionally stunted since youth? Perish the thought. AFFILIATIONS. Brinkley: Best friend and worst enemy. Bonds over their homeland. Matrim: Respects them, the two catch up occasionally but aren't very close. Bitterbark: Recent subject of interest. Turns up his nose at Bitterbark's rough, outdoorsy manners, but something about the guardian intrigues him... He can't put a claw on it, so for now he contents himself with antagonising Bits.
