ABOUT. Bitterbark--or Bits, as he introduces himself as--is a decent hunter working in the Clan of Rattling Bone. His talents lie in coaxing food from this barren excuse for a habitat. Him and Xol (another hunter with similar talents) hunt for the clan in shifts. Always willing to lend a hand, Bits is, to most of the clan, a friendly face. He'll teach anyone how to set a snare or use a bow properly; he's not the best teacher but he has patience and persistence enough. He's currently taking applications for apprentices but no one has taken him up on his offer yet. Bits remains hopeful. IMPRESSIONS. Bitterbark towers over most anyone that meets him. Built like a whoa-holy-Plaguebringer-you're-tall. Can move quietly when he wants to (he wouldn't be much of a hunter otherwise if he couldn't). When he's not prepping for a hunt, cleaning his kills, or maintaining his equipment, Bits can be found helping Eurynome with her garden, just loitering around wherever Shaii is, or bothering Asperata. PAST. Like the many thousands of guardians hatched in the wake of the Tidelord's disappearance, Bitterbark feels a (at best) tenuous pull to his Charge. He hatched in a peaceful Arcane village and left when he was grown in response to the slight tug at his instincts that would eventually lead him to his life's purpose and the desire to find his place in the world. He got just that in the Viridian Labyrinth. Bitterbark apprenticed himself to a huntress that worked in the same clan that Shaii, the imperial who killed every plant they came into contact with, was hatched in. Of course, this was some time after Shaii left. But Bitterbark caught wind of it. He found himself drawn to the gossip and speculation and, after learning all he could from his master, left to chase the tail end of the rumours. He couldn't explain it if he tried--the pull of his Charge, perhaps? It was only by coincidence, however, that Bitterbark found Shaii. He answered a notice posted in a small town about a clan in need of extra hands, more specifically, a hunter who could tolerate the harsh weather of the Wasteland. As it so happened, the clan was the very same one that housed Shaii. He answered the notice. You know the rest. FRIENDS. Eurynome: Grandma. Bits is one of the few who can hold a conversation with Eurynome without her snapping and breaking the conversation off. Shaii: Charge...? Bits isn't too sure. He's drawn to Shaii for sure but doesn't feel the protective tendencies that a typical guardian should. It's unnerving--but hey, at least they're good friends. Asperata: Enemy. Crush. No, wait--well. He's not sure. Is a crush supposed to make you feel equal parts annoyed and...something else? Xol: Fellow hunter. He respects its talents and Xol respects him in turn. They take turns hunting for the clan because they don't work well as a team. MISC. he/him hefty, quick most dragons call him Bits hunter in the employ of the Clan of Rattling Bone | xxxxxxxxxxx |
