Biography

Primus
Matriarch

Primus had just barely left her days as a hatchling behind when her clan ran afoul of a herd of Shade-tainted beasts. Nearly all were injured, many were dead, and what was left could not properly be called a clan anymore. “We needed to be stronger,” Primus thought to herself as she set off on her own, to learn how she might become just that.

The youth learned very quickly what is common knowledge to those Mirrors with the benefit of a clan to learn from: there is more strength to be had in numbers than alone. In her travels, she met a Tundra dragon calling himself Ultra Magnus. The two, though both Plague-born, were not the fastest friends – though she understood the need for companionship and had even come to crave it, Primus found it difficult, at times, to restrain her innate Mirror savagery, while Ultra Magnus's personality held perhaps a bit more sternness from his Ice ancestry than one might have expected. Still, they worked well together, and Ultra Magnus proved an unexpectedly competent warrior for a Tundra, so that when Primus decided to found her own clan, Ultra Magnus chose to join her.
Primus has dedicated her clan to the eradication of the influence of the Shade on their world, and expects all members of her clan to train for combat. They take in many adoptees, although a large number of these are sent to serve the Plaguebringer directly after their training period, for the war against the Shade is among the many battles fought by her goddess, and for this, the Plaguebringer needs soldiers. A smaller but growing number have become permanent fixtures, and aid in care of the hatchlings and the training of the young.

The Parasite Invades
TinyBotfly_zpsaigj0atp.png
Primus takes many into her Clan, and lays down with many among them. Though some are fonder of each other than others, those of the Clan are expected to take many mates in order to ensure a variety of strong children, for from diversity, strength. None thought anything unusual when Primus lay down with the newcomer Botfly and begat a clutch of eggs.

Unfortunately, as it turned out, Botfly was no true dragon but was, in fact, a parasite that poses as a dragon! Such creatures generally die after reproducing, but in this case, Primus, upon learning she had been deceived, killed the faux-dragon herself! She was embarrassed to have been tricked so, however, and so the official Clan register lists Botfly as having been exalted to the Plaguebringer, so none would know that he was not, in fact, a dragon. Unfortunately, by the time the truth about Botfly was discovered, the hatchlings, all parasites themselves, had escaped from the Clan and found their way into other nests.

Gifts From the Gods: Stronger, Sharper, Tougher

As time went on, the Plaguebringer became pleased with the many servants being sent to her from Primus's clan, and so she blessed Primus with gifts to make her more powerful: a hard, crystalline hide, with faceted wings possessing cutting edges to match, and a line of poisoned spines to make battle with Primus all the more dangerous. The spines oft cause a terrible infection in those scratched by them, although those who come into most regular contact with Primus eventually gain a resistance to them.

She also gained a loyal companion, a Celestial Antelope, whom she awakened to its fullest potential. She sometimes spends time among the other beast companions the clan has gathered, bonding with them and helping them to grow in power, but the Celestial Antelope is her favorite.

Finally, she has found a new semi-regular mate, although many wonder what she sees in the talkative, overly-fond-of-drink Guardian.
