Biography
|
Unlike many of his more frantic or energetic siblings Galben is as cool as they come. Impossible to ruffle Galben takes everything at his own pace. And if you listen to his siblings that pace is ‘slower than a Snapper in a coma’. But that’s fine with Galben. He doesn’t mind going at a different pace than everyone else. It allows him to appreciate things he doesn’t think others always have the chance to appreciate and think deeply on them. While at first glance one might think Galben is a philosopher but on a second interaction you realize that no, he’s no philosopher; he’s a poet. Galben learned Sinhgari calligraphy from Nadalin on the Windy Isle and he’s never found a better way to express himself. Sinhgari is already a complicated language nature to the Plateau to speak but the writing of it is even more complex and nuanced. But being a reincarnated Wind Progenitor Nadalin is well versed in all ways to communicate in the Plateau’s native tongue. She taught Galben how to do the intricate calligraphy and since then his walls have been covered in scrolls filled with his writings and expressions on how he sees the world. To those who can’t read or write Sinhgari the words appear beautiful but the meaning shallow. To those who can not a few have been moved to tears by his poetry. His brother Aisham eventually convinced him to collect his poetry into smaller form and bind them in a book. The book is readily on sale in the Golden Rule where Aisham works. Its allowed Galben’s work to be heard far and wide beyond the Hall. While not common sometimes someone will visit the Hall just to see Galben, fan over his poetry, and ask him to sign their copy of his poetry book. For himself Galben is rather flattered but he doesn’t see what he does as anything overly spectacular. Anyone could do what he does. He just was the one to do it. His family insist that no how he writes is very special and moving but Galben just sees it as the only way he can really communicate what’s going on in his head. To him it’s a necessity, not art. But he’s learned not to argue with them. |
