Something went wrong when Rahab was made. He's not totally a dragon. Well. He is. But he is also a fish. He was born this way and knows no other way. Other dragons scorn and scoff at him, saying it's hardly a dragon. He's more like a snack. His sister Layali keeps him safe from cruel dragons like those.

Because of his birth condition, Rahab is more at home in the water than in the sky and in fact can hardly fly at all because the shape of his wings are just all wrong. Thankfully he and his sister settled in a salt swamp where he can get around easily in the water or climbing the trees or his sister. His coloring makes him easy to spot in the water and he can often be found swimming around his sister or clinging to her in whatever form she takes. Unlike most dragons of Cypress Hall Rahab doesn't shape shift. No one is really sure if he chooses not to or if he just can't because of his deformities.

Rahab doesn't talk much. In fact, he's almost totally mute and only speaks to Layali and a select few others. In the months Layali was gone from the Hall looking for her Najaïr Rahab became very withdrawn and spoke to no one and was rarely seen, even by their adopted mother Johanna. Only when Layali returned with Najaïr did he speak again and it was such a shout that every dragon on every island heard the delight in the strange Progenitor’s voice as his sister returned home.
