A S H B R I N G E R ' S- D R E A M

Clan progenitor Ashbringer was raised by Banescales along with her adopted Banescale siblings Wraithqueen and Wraithshade. Her home clan was unhomogenized and filled with unique cultures and dragons. When she and Queenie decided to leave the clan to form their own, their dream was to create a clan as unique as their original home.

The Lair:
The newly formed clan was originally nomadic, wandering the Tangled Wood, gathering just enough supplies and food to stay afloat. As the clan grew, more dragons created more roles and soon the clan began to flourish. Eventually they settled in Wispwillow Grove and a small settlement grew into a mighty fortress - the birth of Tenebris Tower. The fortress cannot be seen through the dark forest of the Tangled Wood, but rumors abound and it didn't take long for the Tower to become a popular place for visitors of the Wood to take shelter, stock up on supplies, or find a guide through the darkness.

Clan Roles

Leadership:
Ashbringer • Berrybur • Clearwater • Forgeflame • Nightingale • Wraithqueen• Wraithshade
The Clan leadership exists as a council of elders. They decide on clan issues along with insight from representatives of all clan roles. Forgeflame and Berrybur are the heirs of the original clan founders, and will one day take the place of their parents.

Clan Defenders:
The Clan Defenders are the warriors of the clan; They defend the clan both in their home and abroad. They also serve to guard the tower as watchmen, taking shifts for both day and night.

Gaoler Warriors:
While most of the Gaolers in Ashbringer's clan are not from the Southern Icefield, some still honor their Gaoler past. These particular Gaolers sought out a new life rather than join an order; however their warrior instincts have not faded and they guard the clan with the same diligence their forbearers guarded the Southern Icefield. They are highly honored among the Clan's Gaoler population.

The Caretakers:
The clan caretakers care for their clanmates - literally and figuratively.

Medicine Dragons:

The Medicine dragons care for the body and mind. There are many dangers lurking in the shadows of the Woods. The Defenders keep any sort of evil from creeping within the Tower Walls, but you leave at your peril. That said, if you are ever hurt or fall ill, Midnightdaze and her protégées will have you fixed up in no time at all.

Spiritualists:

While the Medicine dragons care for the body, the Spiritualists care for the soul. Bonetail is chief of the order and is well versed in the religions of Sornieth, but there are others you can see as well. Perhaps you want the cards read by Mantis, or a glimpse of what lies beyond from Dibella? Whatever you chose, these dragons will treat you with kindess and care.

Hatchling Care:

The Nest Guardians care for infant dragons too small to leave the nest, providing their parents with much needed downtime and hatchlings the stimulation they need for growing minds and bodies.

Tower Maintenace:

These dragons build and maintain the structure and the grounds of the Tower. Tenebris is large, and its a big job, but hard work goes a long way.

Food Production:

With such a large clan with so many types of dragons, food production is essential to their very survival. These dragons ensure that not only is there enough food to go around, but that the food avaliable is of the highest quality and deliciousness. They're very good at what they do, and bellies of their clanmates are always filled.

Shopkeepers:

The commerce of Tenebris Tower is what keeps the Clan running. The Clan members mainly use a barter system among themselves, but they sell excess goods to travelers and even have set up an export trade business.

Artists:

Art is a highly encouraged craft in Clan Tenebris. Many of the clan artists have traveled far to find a home to cultivate their various crafts. Some sell their works, but most have found the freedom to simply create for the sake of creation.
Lilycloud and Reaper serve an important social role in their art as clan lorekeepers. They preform both oral histories and recite stories of Sornieth.

Crafters:

Crafters differ only slightly from the Clan Artists - Their goods are made with the express intention to sell abroad or to benefit the goals of the clan. Metalworking is the most common craft, but there are all sorts of tradesmen among them.

Services:

These dragons provide valuable services to both locals and visitors - from a place to stay to a bite to eat or even transport to travel on. Want a new book but don't have the extra treasure to spend? Maybe visit the local library! Lost your familiar? Talk to the local law enforcement, they'll help you find them.

The Travelers:

Not all the Dragons in the Population of Tenebris Tower are content to stay idle. Many chose to wander rather than live their lives in one spot. Some of them are adventurers, while others have a purpose to their travel in jobs such as couriers and guides.

Ambassadors:

While some dragons travel for pleasure or trade, these dragons travel to foster goodwill between Clans.

Flight Representatives:

Unlike the other ambassadors who travel between clans, the Elemental Ambassadors live in Tenebris permanently, acting as a go between for visiting dragons and the various clans who may vist the Wood.

Beastclan Ambassadors:

The balance between Dragon and Beastclan is a very fragile thing in Sornieth. Rather than be the aggressor, it is the policy of Clan Tenebris to foster peace. These ambassadors live beside the Beastclan and vise versa, their Beastclan familiars live among the clan in order to better learn of the other and bridge their common ground.

Researchers:

The Tangled Woods isn't conducive to research in the same way that the Domain of the Arcanist - Starfall Isles - is. This doesn't stop the various scientists and researchers of the Clan, however. Regardless of field, these dragons pour their hearts and souls into their studies.

Magic Researchers:

Magic users are in small number in Tenebrae - something about the Shadows inhibit their potency. Perhaps Shadowbinder herself refuses to be outdone by a mere mortal. That doesn't stop these dragons from honing their skills.

Black Market:

Not everyone in the clan is filled with good will. These dragons may have nefarious intentions, or they just want your treasure. Do business with them at your own risk, and don't inform the local law of your activities... To be fair. Osiris and Aset have good intentions. They just also want your treasure.

Lilycloud is the first child of Shadowblossom and Nightrush. She grew up surrounded by stories, particularly the story of how Blossom and Rush had left their clans to join Ashbringer's, and how they had fallen in love. As a small hatchling, she would beg Ghoststar, or "Reaper" as he is called, for story after story, and as she grew, she had memorized nearly all the lore of Sornieth. As an adolescent, Reaper asked Lilly if she desired to become his apprentice. She eagerly agreed. As time went on, Reaper began to venture beyond the clan in search of new stories, and she would join him both as his student, and his protector. Once, while exploring Driftwood Drag, Reaper and young Lily found a dying Serthis warrior. Lily was so distraught at the idea of seeing a sentient species dying that she insisted to bring him back to the lair. Reaper (who being less than 2 meters in height really had no say in the matter) agreed, and helped her bind his wounds enough to bring him back.
Midnightdaze wasn't too thrilled to be enlisted in a snake rescue, but she would never let any creature die, so with Lily's help, she nursed him back to health. The Serthis, a warrior named Asra, was baffled by their kindness, but also felt indebted to his saviors. Asra, no longer having a clan to return to, decides to stay among the dragons as Lily's familiar and begins a written record of the her stories....

Lily is extremely shy and introverted but her shyness melts away when she is telling back a story. She comes off very monotone due to her constant exposure to Fae speech, but her stories hold their own.
While she generally prefers to keep her own company when it comes to other dragons, she is never seen without Asra, her constant companion.
