Backstory: Cloudpetal was the first Gaoler to join Ashbringer's clan. She craved a different life than the Plague flight could give her, so she traveled deep into the Tangled Woods. She ran into Swampbane and Tigerqueen who were out hunting for food. Eager for company she ends up striking up a conversation with them. It turns out they are hunting together while their mates, Ash and Wraithshade are back in the lair caring for their young hatchlings, but Swampy and Queen are having a difficult time keeping up with the demands of the hungry clutch. Worried for their young, Petal offers to come back with them so she can guard the hatchlings so the parents can go out hunting together. At first, Swampy insists on staying back with her as he is deeply protective of his children, but over time the clan begins to trust her and she is welcomed as one of them. After the twins Mistshade and Shadowblossom join, she is no longer the only Gaoler - something she is thrilled about. Blossom is very fond of her, but Misty is quickly infatuated. She finds his advances endearing, and asks him to be her mate.
