Born within the merciless Scarred Wasteland, Zakitua had a rough life from the get-go. He had to struggle to survive, being a Veilspun in a cruel land. Small and fragile, almost everything within the Wasteland could easily kill him. He had to do unspeakable things in order to survive. And one of them was making a deal with a demon. A devil. The Plague demon turned Zakitua into a demon himself, saving his life. But, in order to repay him, he had to collect the souls of those around him. He has a quota to fill each month, and if he doesn't fill them, then the demon that turned him would punish him. Severely. And while Zakitua doesn't have much fear, due to growing up in a merciless environment, he does fear the demon that sired him. Knowing he needs a lot of souls, Zakitua traveled around, staying in villages and cities here and there, taking what souls he could, before moving on before anyone got suspicious. But when he stumbled upon the Tiered City of Ilthorne, he knew he hit the jackpot. A three tiered city? Plenty of souls to devour here. He set himself up as a businessman, luring dragons in with too good to believe deals. And with the contract signed, if they don't fulfill it, their soul is his. He's flown under the radar so far, and hopes to keep it up. He's quite happy with the amount of souls he's gotten so far. And, when he's gotten over his quota, the souls are his to do with as he wishes. So he uses them to keep himself looking handsome and young--something that also brings in unwary dragons. Looks, combined with his silver tongue, has lured many a poor dragon into his abode, signing their souls away without even realizing it. Zakitua is charismatic, using that and his good looks to his advantage to lure dragons in. Because he's a demon, he does have an evil air about him, and will often let his demonic side show, when he gets too excited. Because of his way of luring dragons in, a Fae by the name of Sceleratis had sought him out, welcoming him into the cult of Those Who Devour the Sun. Not knowing if Emperors need souls or not, Sceleratis has Zakitua lure Imperials in, stealing their souls, before letting Sceleratis do with the soulless body as he wishes. Zakitua has no idea if Emperors have or need souls, but if so many Imperials die, then there's that many souls he could collect... |
