Biography
Name meaning: Clopin comes from an expression that means "to hobble along" or Marcher clopin-clopant. Clopin itself comes from the word clopiner meaning "to limp."
A tiny capsule whizzes through the air, slowly halting its descent until it plonks harmlessly onto the ground, rolling to a stop soon after. A teeny tiny pile of scraps crawls out, peeping a greeting. A softly glowing runestone is tucked inside the capsule, carefully etched with the symbol of the Plaguebringer. The glow shifted through a veritable rainbow of colors; it was likely made by Adnet.
A note protrudes through the mess of scraps, a peep of thanks following when a dragon took it. It read: "This little one came to us from the Sunbeam Ruins on a wayward breeze that died down within the Wilds; he wanted to follow it the rest of the way." It's signed Nilaratan.
The runestone seems to float after the small pile of scraps, almost as if it was...protecting it. It seems the Glade is worried for any dragons that pass through it. Hopefully everything is discovered soon.
Winhill folded the note with a sigh and mentally added another stop by Rui's shop to the patrol so a note could be drafted to inform Nilaratan of their new guest's safe arrival. "Should we escort him to-"
"He's already gone," Raynan interrupted him. Sure enough, when Winhill looked around there wasn't so much as a single scrap left behind. "Looks like he was goin' somewheres in particular."
Sometime later that day, Magister returns to his school to discover a trail of scraps leading inside from the hidden entrance. Intrigued, he follows it to the Court where Kalliope and Calypso are practicing their routine. Playing alongside them, he notices a small child.
"Aah, I see." Magister grins. "Welcome to the family, young one. There is plenty for you to discover here~"
Clopin was born in the Beacon of the Radiant Eye, then landed in The Behemoth before following the breeze the rest of the way to the Zephyr Steppes in response to hearing the call of the Jesters.
He is good at acrobatics, but his favorite trick is pretending to be a puppet, so he will most often be found trying to participate in routines with Kalliope and Calypso. They seem to think he's cute and don't mind mentoring him.
ROLE: Jester, Student of Magister's School. MATE: N/A FAMILIAR: ? NOTABLE RELATIVES: Magister (adoptive father) Note: He makes a very good carnival Jester. Based partially on Clopin Trouillefou. Accent by Puppeteer. |
