Learned magic from her aunt Delilah, alongside her brother Flurry. However, after a time she began to grow more interested in the darker side of magic. When a mysterious new dragon joined the clan, Grape was intrigued. An imperial named Porphyria, the new clan member was a sorcerer, and Grape immediately began to ask her many questions about magic. Instead of admonishing Grape for her interest in dark magic, Porphyria freely answered her questions. This only encouraged Grape further, and she grew more and more invested in learning about the dark arts. Delilah was not pleased and attempted to dissuade her, but Grape would not listen and stopped showing up for lessons.

Eventually her fascination with dark magic began to worry even Porphyria, but it was too late for anyone to get through to her. Grape stopped speaking to anyone about magic and pored over strange books instead. She began leaving the clan, often not returning for weeks at a time. Finally, she left the clan and did not reappear for months. When she finally did return, she was draped in bones and wearing a strange, black necklace...
