Was born to the south in the drifting snowfields. With his bright red scales standing out against the ice, he learned to use stealth and concealment to his advantage.
While hunting he encountered Borealis, though she went by another name then. Their styles were so complimentary that they agreed to travel together as hunting partners. Eventually they grew close and decided to start their own clan. They chose new names for themselves, Borealis and Australis. The same but opposite.

The clan into which he had been born would not let him join their hunts, saying his bright red colouration would give them away. He never accepted that, not content with the idea of just preparing what the others had caught, or turning his focus to study or some other task. He was determined to prove that he could do as well as any of them, but they would not give him the chance. If he couldn't get the experience he needed with his clan then he would have to get it on his own, and so he left his clan behind.
At first he had intentions of returning one day to show them all how skilled he had become, but the longer he was on his own the less that occupied his thoughts. After hunting and travelling with Borealis, he turned his focus from the past to the future and thoughts of a new clan they would found themselves, one based on their own principles.

Personality: Hates failing at anything. Somewhat prideful, though he's mellowed out on that... a little. More likely to sulk and give you dirty looks if there's a disagreement. More willing to bend the rules to win.
