Bo-Bedre

Artificial Creation

Uh-oh, looks like this "dragon" wandered a little too far from their home lair (452562, Hyzenthlaay), and now they’re off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt them, we'd really appreciate it if you instead could just send them off in the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread. If you don't want another traveler in return, they can be sent to their original home via the Crossroads, or this rest hub.

You can also adopt them permanently if you don’t want them leaving your lair - just contact Hyzenthlaay and let her know (it’s good for her notes)!

Many people have worked very hard on this traveling dragon, and exalting them would be an absolute shame. Please don’t do it!

Bo-Bedre was created from the same sort of "scrap" their creator Setsuna used to assemble breeding machines like Batterbones. But unlike her previous experiment Bo-Bedre was not created for the express purpose of propagation. The "veilspun" instead functions as the head of a small team of other artificially created veilspun, all of whom directly report to Setsuna herself. The erratic patterning and small size of Bo-Bedre and company makes them not only difficult to recognize amongst the city of Mavenlark's regular crowds, but largely impossible to see in general. They collect all manners of gossip and activity that is then compiled by Setsuna herself for relevancy. It is in this manner that the bogsneak manages to keep the more illegal and ethically dubious going-ons of her Parlor away from the ears of clan leader Mother Bitestrith and other interfering sources.

This creation shows a particular devotion to Setsuna, who in turn treats the little one like a second child. A second child that she is frequently re-adhering lost limbs to, that is.

When not working, she enjoys a mentorship with Toodleroo, who is often more than happy to turn her already questionably flesh body into a mechanical wonder. He's fitted her with iron wings, artificial lungs, a microprocessor, and [REDACTED].

Currently, they are in your lair for...well, it's not certain why they're in your lair, but probably for nothing good. Better keep your lips closed and an eye on them - where Bo-Bedre lurks, her team does.

BoBedre's Log:

Strangeflesh, Corrosionius: Across the desert and its fine satin sands, the robotic thing moved with grace. Her rubber-built bones creaked with each gust if wind. Bo knew now and well that the people who made her were long dead, and that bore a hole in them. How? She just felt it, in her soul.
That's what it's like, when you aren't alive. You feel things in the living that others don't. It should be sad, but it wasn't. It never knew them.
She had to get going. To the rusted city on the horizon.
Bo Bedre enter though a cranny in the great way, their body was small enough to wiggle through. When they did they were met with budding necropolis full of horrid–well, she assumed they were horrid, she didn't really have that much experience that kind of thing–smells and sights. It wondered around for several hours before it came across a similar creature to herself, she could smell the grinding gears and burning oil from deep within him.
They plodded over to them and, rather rudely asked him about his nature as an automation. He responded with a long tale about his lineage and biology, and his brother who was so very skilled and wise. What youthful arrogance! Of course he though his family was the best of all of them, that's just what these light-bornes are like nowadays.
Anyway, Bo Bedre went on her way after this she found this scrap of information. Perhaps knowledge of the Mechanical Wants will help them in the feature. Perhaps not.

snailgiiirl, The Hearth: It was a pleasant place, warm and cozy. She was greeted by a huge Guardian, who looked intimidating at first, but then turned out to have a polite nature.

@Hyzenthlaay here! This dragon is officially a part of the "Around the World in 365 Dergs" challenge. Check out the thread for information and more travelers like this! ...or just read the following:
  • The general idea is that I am going to create 365 unique traveling dragons, send them off into the world, and see what happens. I'm also going to complete mini-challenges along the way using travelers. If that interests you, consider checking the challenge thread out!
  • I don't want to overflood the system with just my dragons, so adopting travelers from me to live in your lair is totally fine! In fact, I'm betting on it. Just let me know.
  • Always feel free to tell me when you have this dragon in your lair! I love hearing updates.
