Working closely alongside - and flirting incessantly with, should the fates will him to do so - Demelza, Toodleroo's lab is the hotbed of chaos within clan Mavenlark. Located within Setsuna's tattoo shop, the latest in body modification and experiments of questionable morality are never more than a few steps away for members of the Tattoo Parlor. The brunt of these efforts are run by Toodleroo, who tends to be more organized than lab associate Demelza, though less creative. The two bounce off one another in such a way that work and play seem to intermingle. Between their mutual lighthearted flirtation, serious scientific inquiries, and plain curiosity, strange and new discoveries are aplenty under their claws. While it is Demelza who is often responsible for spearheading these discoveries, Toodleroo often finds ways to apply them, making her the scientist and him the inventor of their dichotomy. Born with wings too weak to support flight, one of Toodleroo's first experiments was in fixing his own body. Working with scrap that had washed upon on the shore of his birthhome, he began affixing himself with wing supports. This is a habit he maintains to this day, always seeking to better his models. His current set are solar-powered and can be charged with low blitzes of Arcane magic in emergencies, something he can collect plentiful amounts of within his permanent home in the Crystalspine Reaches. |

Despite what visitors to the lab tend to think, Toodleroo's true mate is Thicket from the Tiered Parlor, who doesn't mind his relationship with Demelza. In fact, Toodleroo considers himself aromantic, his flirtation more of a fun hobby than an actual indication of serious interest. Him and Thicket share a close interpersonal bond not quite unlike a friendship that has borne several hatchlings. He might be more organized than his lab associate, but make no mistake - Toodleroo takes just as much joy out of the chaos of unwieldy science and magic as Demelza does. Just so long as the Mother doesn't catch them in the act...
