Illyn
of the Council of Six

|VW2D3at.gif Illyn comes from a long, long line of dragons who have maintained the Aergate for centuries. Many of his elders remember when his flock were outcasts and pariahs for maintaining the ruins, but he was born into the prosperity and influence that his flock's position grant him now.

Despite his upbringing, he never connected with the more spiritual sides of his flock's work. While he enjoyed the wealth that it afforded his family, he never truly appreciated the work that went into maintaining the Aergate. He acted less like a servant of the Windsinger and more like a prince. Illyn was expected to, if not take over his parent's role, fill another role in his flock, but time and time again he never really fit whatever role his parents chose for him. After many tries, he and his parents agreed that the flock wasn't a good fit for him, so he struck out on his own.

Eventually, Illyn found himself at the recently founded city of Greenport. The founders were struggling to maintain order in a community that had grown much larger than either of them had ever anticipated. Illyn stepped in and introduced himself as a maintainer of the Aergate and offered to help govern the port city. They accepted his help gratefully, and the council was founded.

Illyn thinks quite highly of himself. From being born into a position of power to stepping into another powerful role, he's always been highly respected, and he expects everyone to treat him the same way. He's not the most sociable dragon, but he's a very familiar face, as he's one of the longest running members of the Council.

Due to the resources his home flock gave to him, Illyn is a very well-learned dragon. He's especially invested in trade, and he's generally responsible for managing the budget of Greenport. His policies tend to invest money back into the shopkeepers, artisans, and workers of the port to encourage trade with other ships and cities.

Outside of session, Illyn enjoys learning. He'll commonly be in bookshops and libraries, buried in half a dozen books and taking notes on all of them. When he gets focused, he hates being interrupted, so many local dragons have gotten used to avoiding him on his regular visits.

I know I'm doing some real backtracking but I REALLY needed to come back to Illyn. I'm a little obsessed with how well the Adjucator apparel and the Bronze Butterfly fit together! And the Honeydew primal takes a really good palette and gives it a little extra -flavor-. A good, classic sage/scholar vibe, but the Butterfly and the antennae on a Skydancer give it an organic twist.

Illyn is so handsome! The gold color scheme is on point B) The apparel is also wonderfully layered, and it's busy but not tooo busy. You hit the spot. Great job :D Your whole lair is gorgeous btw!

The outfit and the skydancer pose give impression of a dragon who carries himself proudly. The myriad luxurious gold details, richly layered clothes, and the enigmatic looking sage apparel create a picture of a dragon that is both powerful and somehow related to spirituality. You did a great storytelling work not only with the words, but also by this dragon's colors and outfit.

The lanterns, the halo, and the vibrant streams of smoke are my favorite part. They add quite a lot of dynamism to an otherwise static male skydancer pose. Generally, Illyn is very striking and full of character, thus he gets #1 place. Great job ith the bio formatting too!

Exalting Illyn to the service of the Windsinger will remove them from your lair forever. They will leave behind a small sum of riches that they have accumulated. This action is irreversible.
