Biography

Uh-oh, looks like this charming boi wandered a little too far from his home clan (559581, MoonlilyluvsCas), and now he's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but he would be very grateful!

Jaguar’s note— I’m begging you, please don’t exalt him. You can gene him up, you can change his breed, you can breed him (actually please do, this is a scandalous boi) you can do anything but don’t exalt him. And if you do breed him, be sure to keep track of his mates, as in how many broken hearts he’s left behind. As well as any friends he made in his clan. So generally something like a diary for his travels. I’m interested in seeing where his travels will take him, and how many kids he’ll have & broken hearts he’ll leave lairs he’ll visit. Thank you!

Confirmed lady’s man and bachelor. Likes to roam free, untethered. From a hatchling, he charmed all the ladies and will continue to do so, flying from one clan to another.

Journal:
I love Kailea, but hatchlings aren’t for me. I’m leaving the töfrandi vindur clan at midnight. I’m definitely keeping the bracelet Kailea gave me, and I hope she forgives me. She probably won’t though.

I've found myself in Clan Ares today, many different dragons here, but the most interesting one would have to be that sneaky artist that I can't find anywhere, i literally fell asleep and woke up with a picture beside me. Strange place I gotta say.

Corrosionius was a weird town. There’s all sorts of messed up dragons there, from a faceless Obelisk to a living plushie! It was way too weird there. It wasn’t that bad though, I met a beautiful Pearlcatcher named Bruise, whom I wooed. We had two hatchlings, but one of them died shortly after…I think? They seem to be half alive-half dead! Like some kind of zombie, ghost thing. I was scared that Bruise might destroy the creature, so I ran away with them! I’m not really ready to be a father, but I can’t abandon something that fought so hard to be alive.

I’ve never flown through a hurricane before, but I can’t say I’d like to do it again. The dragons of Storm’s End picked a heck of a spot to live. Perhaps the difficulty getting here is why they chose it? The little hatchling—Canterville, I’ve named her—seemed to have fun with the skydancer kids in the wingery. … I think their caretaker knew. She seems to understand; even taught me a bit on caring for hatchlings. Some part of me wishes we could have stayed, but their clan leader seems like a stern dragon. I worried too much that Canterville’s condition may change as she grows, and what could have happened if it did.

Journal
I worry about Canterville, but it's looking like she hasn't yet noticed how different she is from other dragons. On our travels she talked about the friends she's been making. Funny enough, I haven't seen any of them. I thought she had a knack for befriending shy folks or something. And a youngster should have friends! I'm not going to be the kind of parent that forbids their child from socializing. But I caught her saying goodbye to a memorial stone at the end of our last trip. I didn't want to jump to conclusions...but I think my girl can see ghosts.

Journal
I wasn’t welcome in Corrosionius, but I had to go there. I have heard of the creatures known as Luminous Reapers, and they may help with her new powers. I met one, by the name Petrolatum, who said that he could help.
“Ah, I’ve seen this before. She’s a Half-Undead.” He pulled out a coin and said, “ It’s like this: on a coin, you could say living is Heads, and death is Tails. She happens to be what happens when the coin stands on its side. It’s not your fault, and there’s nothing wrong with her, but you should be careful. They can fall off the edge easily.”
“Oh. Is that it? She can see ghosts, I’m pretty sure.”
“Yes. They all can. Don’t worry about it.”
It’s hard not to worry. She’s my daughter, and the only one I’ve truly cared about.

My next stop held something of a lifesaver for me- an inn, where I could keep Canterville safe while I have a little fun out on the town. Don't get me wrong, I love her. It's just that I haven't had any hatchlings for a while. Or relationships in general. So, I left her in the room while I travelled out to the small town nearby the towering inn. I met a guardian, who was funnily enough also a travelling dragon- we had a clutch of three, though she insisted on keeping all of them. I didn't mind.

When I got back to the room, though, Canterville wasn't there. Or at least, the one I knew and loved. Some how (she says it was her 'friends'), she'd been turned into a fae. That was certainly enough to make me pack our bags and get the hell out of there. No more haunted stuff for me, thank you very much.

Journal
It wasn’t hard getting out of that town, but Canterville is… different. Well, obviously she’s a fae now, but fae can’t run - they’re only really fast in the air, but my girl’s not used to flying full-time. And she tires quickly, too, since she’s so small… In the end, we only ended up getting to the neighboring region, the Sunbeam Ruins. And I had to carry her for most of the last stretch.
Anyway, as we were resting in a clearing, a hunting party found us. The leader was a mirror dragon who was honestly a little scary, but her pearlcatcher friend convinced her to hear us out. (You don’t see a hunting pearlcatcher often.) Lucky for us, the clan they were from had an inn we could stay at.

So now we’re at the Lantern Cove Inn. I didn’t want to leave Canterville alone in the room again, but one of the staff members promised to watch her, and they seemed to get along well… so I went to see if I could find any information on Canterville’s condition - being “half-undead” - from the clan’s massive library. At first I wasn’t allowed inside, so I guess they thought I could be dangerous, but once I explained what I was looking for to the library’s caretaker Lyseri, she agreed to help me.
We spent a while digging through scrolls and tomes and stuff. Well, she did most of the digging. I helped as best I could, but she moved around the library way faster than I did, and read super fast too. According to her, there wasn’t much information there that we didn’t already have - my Canterville is half-alive and half-dead, and she can see ghosts. But I also learned that - like Petrolatum said - it’s easy for half-undead dragons to fall to one side or the other. My girl might one day be a fully living dragon… but if we’re not careful, she could become a ghost.

I’m going to be honest, when I arrived back at our room in the Inn, I was half-expecting to see that Canterville had changed again, so I was relieved to see her sitting on a bed. She was talking to a skydancer surrounded by magic butterflies, and the staff member from before introduced her as Reverie. She seemed nice enough, but Canterville said that she was surrounded by ghosts! I would’ve left right there, but she seemed to be having fun, and I thought a rest would be good for her. Still, we only stayed for the night, long enough for my girl to get her strength back and to be examined by one of the clan’s healers - then we were out as fast as I could get us!

Journal
I heard of a place. A small potion shop in the Viridian Labyrinth where they might have something to help Canterville. We travelled there as quickly as possible but once we got there, the shop was closed. Something about the dragons who ran it going off into the Emperor's Wake to look for something or other. Three long agonizingly long days passed before they came back but at least in those days, Canterville had fun. A Fae hopped by our room at the inn and brought some flowers over to brighten it up, introducing herself and ending up sitting for a while and talking with Canterville. While she seemed nice enough, I couldn't help but worry that she might have some pollen on her that could make my daughter ill.

Funnily enough, nothing came of the visit other than a desire set to see her again by Canterville. Each day, Prastora stopped by to bring some fresh flowers in until two of the dragons from the shop finally came to take a look at Canterville. The larger of the pair, Orlena, struck my fancy but my daughter is more important right now than trying to woo another dragon into having a nest. She didn't seem interested in me but she did seem intrigued by Canterville's state. The second dragon, who wasn't introduced properly, took a look at her an asked for a few drops of blood from Canterville, who obligated. Once it was done though, both left.

I'm not sure what happened between them and their coven but a day later when they came back with a potion, nothing seemed to happen. It truly looked like nothing happened but as we started to head out again, the change was clear. Canterville did have a bit more spirit as it seemed but her wings- they've changed. The veins are as clear as day and the patten almost resembles rocks. She says their not heavy but what if something changed in a few days? I've got to get her out of here. Never trusting witches again.
