"Hunting the Shade should be my only concern." ╰━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╯ Despite her name, Ruminations doesn't do much ruminating. She's serious and blunt, living up to her breed's reputation for coldness. Born to a wandering clan which had ended up in the Southern Icefield, Ruminations was snatched up by an eagle when she was only a few days old, only to be rescued by a quick-thinking Tundra dragon near the Fortress of Ends. The Tundra gave her to a family of Gaolers that lived just outside the fortress, knowing she'd be in better hands with them, and as a result she was raised in a traditional Gaoler lifestyle. She remembers nothing of her birth clan, nor can she quite remember why exactly she's so afraid of eagles. As an adult, Ruminations joined the Seeker order and set out on her mission to track down and capture the last vestiges of the Shade. While she was traversing the Sea of A Thousand Currents, however, her mission ground to a sudden halt when she was nearly killed in a fight with a Shade-infected roc. She vanquished the creature but sustained severe injuries which caused her to go plummeting off a cliff into the sea, where she nearly drowned due to a combination of poor swimming skills and her heavy fur. Thankfully, however, a group of dragons was fishing nearby, and they pulled her from the water and took her back to their lair. Badly shaken up by the fight, Ruminations chose to stay with the Clan of Morning Mist - now known as the Lanternlight Clan - until her injuries were healed. She didn't know why the roc had scared her so badly or why she'd let that fear override her fighting skills, but either way she was injured and rather freaked out, so she decided to stay put until she was ready to leave again. She didn't end up leaving the clan, however, even after her injuries healed; although she hated to admit it she'd grown attached to the ragtag group that had taken her in. So, despite her highly traditional Gaoler upbringing and cold personality, Ruminations chose to join the clan permanently and continue her hunt for the Shade from her new home. She now has a mate despite previously having thought of love as a waste of time, and she's also been reunited with an old friend from her training days. Although she never would've thought she'd join a clan, she's found happiness where she is, even though the Lanternlight Clan doesn't always mesh perfectly with her beliefs and values. code by milkchai |
