Biography
PANACEA alongside briseis, verity, and embrion • There are 4 adolescent heirs blistering at Sallondon's claws, expected to take upon his machine when he finally dies, one day. This feat, fashioned especially for the not faint-hearted, was hung upon these poor worthless dragonet's shoulders the moment they hatched; they were dunked in lava, and Panacea was the one who rose out of it with her wings flared and her maw open in a soundless roar. She was a threat from day one, culled from the lowest born of local dragons and locked in the mantle's jails for two weeks because of the living fire that encompassed her. But the raging, sinister hatchling she was has seemingly utterly left her, leaving behind a friendly, optimistic, and eager dragon who is an impossible product of her environment. She is quite annoying, to many and most especially Sallondon. She is prone to trailing behind the older dragon, kissing up to him and acting incredibly agreeable to anything he says, and treats her peers as saccharine, close friends. She is still very young, but in many ways.. that certain power all the same flows through her like molten lava, this she knows, and as the years have passed she has learned to shape it, to take advantage of it at her will... • With eyes that are thin, cat-like slits, Panacea was born solely for this role. Her behavior is seen as 'watery' and 'dramatic;' little, unfortunate, vapid, distracted Panacea who can't see that everyone around her hates her and she's only a pawn to the dragon she looks up to most, how tragic... This, she knows, too, something that other dragons don't know she knows, who are merely her pawns themselves. Something her exuberant demeanor disguises, she is deeply, quietly manipulative, and she struts and speaks with plain arrogance, a casual, underlying, surefire assertation that she will inherit Sallondon's machine and she will, eventually, kill them all. This is true. She is so casually, genuinely eager about this that it's nigh unrecognizable from the rest of the various trivial things she enjoys. Yet even though she knows her fellow heirs will die at her talons, she still treats them like friends; perhaps out of knowing pity, or the fact that she loves them, even though they will never quite stand a chance against her. Though she accommodates to all of Sallondon's conspiracies and wishes, Panacea has her own plans for this machine and its workers that are far, far more different than his (and far, far more vile) ... she keeps these things to herself, and remains so unassuming and excited that no one would think otherwise of her • Young for a saint yet she still acts like one. Unlike the other heirs, Panacea forces herself to be known by the public, greatly against Sallondon's wishes. She will, whenever she has the chance, run past him and onto the highest rock in the greatest hall and in front of all those dragons, she'll dip her talons in their magma cauldrons and spread her claws in the air down toward them and let the lava flow and she'll cry down at them that she'll save them! She'll make everything so much better for them!! And just as fast as she rose, Sallondon will grab her by her horns and drag her back into the lower tunnels. Dragons whisper about her, of the dragon with tigerlily flowers strewn across her wings, though they are always silenced. She is better at lying than Sallondon; more careful, concise, lying even about the littlest things such as how much food she took from the prey pile • Nothing about this nasty place is able to get her down; not the suffocating air, not Sallondon's cruel chronicles about herself, not Briseis's horrible attitude and the rest of her grumpy friends (the only four dragons she knows). Panacea keeps her head high, and with that rises her influence, too. She trains the hardest, talks the loudest, learns the most diligently . One day she will be the overseer. And that day will be a very bad day |
